what would you do if floyd got ko'd? lmao I can't even imagine how hurt you would be. Your brain would completely malfunction and start rapidly calculating PPV buys while saying the word 'hater' over and over again lol. Then you would immediately say the doping agency didn't work because they don't test for A-Side Meth
Then I would say that person that ko'd Floyd is the best. You gotta beat the best to be the best.

Who's the best boxer in the world right now?

As usual, Captain 206 to the rescue.... How are Pac's opponents so much better than Floyd's when they (Pac and Floyd) fought 3 of the same opponents? And 2 of those common opponents were better when Floyd fought them.

This pound for pound argument will get put to rest if the fight Mayweather/Pacman fight happens.

After Mayweather whoops Pac's ass then what y'all gone say?

Until then, in my opinion Mayweather is the best pound for pound until someone beats him.

Geez. I don't know what I'm doing this with YOU of all people. :knockout:

3 similar opponents:

Oscar De La Hoya - Floyd fought him at 154, and Pacquiao fought him at 147. Its funny that people were calling a halt to this fight because they felt it would be so one sided in Oscar's favor. Oscar was the betting favorite against Manny. Then, Oscar gets his ass whooped, and then the tunes started to change. Go back on this very board if you don't remember.

Ricky Hatton - Hatton was the linear champion at 140lbs. and was undefeated. Mayweather made him move up to 147 to fight him, after Hatton had already gone life and death, and proven his ineffectiveness at the weight against Collazo. Manny fought him, at his absolute best weight where he had been the undisputed champ for nearly 5 years.

Juan Manuel Marquez - Are you fucking serious Tony? Do you really feel that Marquez was 'BETTER' at 147 pounds than he was/is at 130-135? I shouldn't even have to argue this point, but I think the #10 welterweight would've beat the shit out of him as well, let alone Floyd "I refuse to make the catch weight" Mayweather

Once again Tony, you make yourself look like a complete idiot. But what else is new?

Morebass.. Who are you, 2-0-Sixx now breaking down and requoting what I said lol... It doesn't make your points any more valid.

But on the real, if you can't see that Cotto wasn't the same fighter, then you are so biased you can't see the truth, or you don't know boxing or how severe head trauma works. The fight against Clottey is still disputed by many fans including me who gave the win to Clottey. I don't put stock in no one win at all. Margarito was one in many great Mosely fights. Mayorga has made many fighters look bad on many occasion, all fighters decline at some point, he's still a smart fighter who can beat alot of the top fighters with what he has left in the tank.

And you don't have to admit it to me, but if Mayweather retired for good, he'd still in a class by himself and held in higher regard than where you hold him.

Oscar's own words: "When I fought Mayweather and Pacquaio, it was like night and day" "I was more prepared for Mayweather, I wasn't weight drained" "I was like a zombie in the Pacquiao fight"....

Mayweather is the P4P champ. He was before he retired, and nothing has changed since to make that any different now. Hats off to Pac Man for beating everyone in front of him, but hats off to Mayweather for doing the same and still being undefeated. You gotta beat the best to be the best... Pacquiao aint beat him yet so he's number 2 at best

You're pretty naive to take Oscar's words seriously here. Oscar PROMOTES mayweather. Pacquiao is promoted by Oscars RIVAL Top Rank/Bob Arum.

Oscar has got caught in several lies/contradictions when talking about Pacquiao.

After the fight, he said that Pacquiao's speed did him him and that he was the fastest fighter he ever fought. He said his punches weren't that hard but they were too fast for him and he was hoping Pac would finish him off.

Fast forward to the first Floyd/Pac negotiations, Oscar suddenly said that he had never been hit as hard as he was by Pacquiao and he felt he must have had extra help. LOL, he is one huge douchebag and hypocrite. That's why hardcore boxing fans hate his ass. Great boxing career, all time great, but faggot promoter.

So you think someone can take 2 years off and not fight the top guys (Margartio, Cotto, etc.), come back after all those guys fought eachother and beat eachother up, fight one legit guy and reclaim that spot? While someone else has been beating nothing but champs and hall of famers? nah that's not the way it works. You have to earn that title back and the only way for mayweather to do is to beat pacquiao or if pac loses.

^Here we go again, pumping up Pacman's opponents that he beat "nothing but champs and hall of famers" while he says Mayweather fought one legit guy. LOL

So 206, Morebass, KAH707KALI, when/if Mayweather and Pacman fight who are you going to pick to win?

As I always maintained, I give mayweather the slight edge based on his size and style of fighting. However after seeing how he fought against Mosley, it depends on how Floyd fights.

If floyd fights that same exact style against Pac, he loses.

If floyd fights in his typical fashion (boxing from the outside, pot-shotting, etc.) he wins on points.

When I think of PBF's biggest challenge (weight vs weight, age vs age, prime vs prime) and the first name I think of is Victoriano Sosa. That's a problem.

When I can name more top tier names that he dodged (going back to the Tsyzu and Spadafora era), rather than top tier names that he fought, I also have another reason not to claim him as #1

You know who Floyd was fighting back when true champs reigned?
Henry Bruseles on HBO Latino, dying for attention.

That's just me though...
He's the best clean up artist in the game.

Tony, I already said this. I would pick Mayweather in that match because skill wise, I think they're on the same level. Yes, I do believe this because what Floyd lacks in offense, he more than makes up for in defense, and vise versa for Pacquiao.

That being said, Floyd is a natural welterweight and Pacquiao is more of a lightweight, Jr welterweight at most.

I'm not understanding your logic Cleen.

Pac Man has beaten far better opposition, and done so while moving up in weight, fighting guys he isn't supposed to be beating.

Take the last 10 opponents for each guy, and do a side by side comparison. You tell me then, who has been more impressive.

You can't retire for two years, do nothinig and come back beat the lightweight champion in a welterweight fight, and expect that to mean shit. The argument for Floyd has become much stronger after the Mosley fight, but even before that, you gave Floyd the crown.

Its cool if you don't like Pacquiao man, but be real at least.

Just because you don't like Mayweather (like you've already admitted) doesn't mean we don't like Pacquiao. The only thing I don't like is the "wolfin'" from Pacman and his camp.

You said, "That being said, Floyd is a natural welterweight and Pacquiao is more of a lightweight, Jr welterweight at most."

But that shouldn't matter when you're "pound for pound" number 1 in the world. You've said that Pacquiao has taken on "much" better competition and he's beating up the best WW's in the division.

Tony I think you fail to understand what "pound 4 pound" means.

Pacquiao, or Maywather, are pound 4 pound #1, depending on who you like more, but no one would expect them to beat Chad Dawson.

Similarly, one could make the argument that Pacquiao is pound 4 pound #1 but would lose to mayweather based on size (if you fall into the camp that believes floyd is too big for pacquiao).

See what I'm saying?

I don't know how much of a factor size would be in a showdown between pac vs floyd, but what I do know is that floyd has been a WW for 5 years and pacquiao has been a WW for less than 1 year, and was a lightweight less than 2 years ago. So you know, it really could be a factor many people are overlooking, especially considering how bulked up floyd has looked in his previous two fights (I stated my observation was that Floyd looked to me that he was close to, or over, 160 pounds against shane on fight night).
