MANILA, Philippines – There is hope for a Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight after all.
Pacquiao told ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo that he and Mayweather spoke through the phone and talked about the super bout.
The fighting congressman said he is willing to face Mayweather "anytime," as long as he will be given an equal split of the fight revenues.
"Sabi ko aprub na sa akin ang 50-50, walang problema anytime. Nasa 'yo na 'yun. Maghihintay kami kung OK na sa iyo (I said just give me a 50-50 split in revenue and there would be no problem, anytime. It's up to you. We’ll wait for your answer)," he said.
If Mayweather agrees, the fight could take place in May.
This was contrary to the claim made by boxing promoter Bob Arum in Sports Illustrated that Pacquiao’s next fight would be in June.

This shit is too funny. So Mayweather got the phone number to Manny's bat cave hideout, called him up to ask him man to man for a fight last night. This has been comfrimed by Manny himself and the Mayweather Camp. Arum has to make the fight. We the Fans want Manny vs Mayweather May 5th 2012. arum will still find away to shift the blame on floyd and not make the fight. it's clear, he just wants top rank vs top rank. he's going to say floyd can fight at the end of may and keep pushing that outdoor stadium BS. thing is though, I guess floyd is really obligated to fight at the MGM on may 5th. I guess he has some investors, or sponsors or a deal with the MGM for that date. So it's a weak excuse on bobs part.
If Cotto could be a free agent, there is no reason Pac who is the #1 or #2 biggest boxer on the planet can't be one too. He doesn't need to sign these 3-5 fight contracts, and when you go by a fight to fight basis, you have the promoters by the balls because they'll do anything to have him fight under their banner. Look at Floyd and his relationship with Golden Boy. They only take like 13-15% compared to Top Rank's 26% (at least 26% I'm sure they are robbing him of much more).
