Proves your point? It proves you wrong, genius.

Lineal World Championships: World Flyweight/112 lbs. (1998-99, 1 Defense); World Featherweight/126 lbs. (2003-2005, 2 Defenses); World Jr. Lightweight/130 lbs. champion (2008); World Junior Welterweight (2009-10)

So the judges gave Manny the lineal title at 130lb after robbing Marquez and the Manny fans are proud of that. After Manny moved up from 130lb and robbed Marquez for a 2nd time Manny has done nothing in boxing other then fight leftovers. Manny needs to fight a prime fighter at the top of their game. If no Mayweather please fight Bradley. 2009 - January 2012 Manny has only fought 2 champions and both at catchweights 145lb Cotto and 144lb Marquez. Manny fans should be proud.

You think that all lineal titles can be traced back to when the division first started? That's insane. Lineal titles don't have anything to do with anything else but the results of the bout. Pac & Marquez stepped in the ring and the universally ranked #1/#2 fighters in the division and the official result was that Pacquiao won. Whatever you or anyone thinks of the decision is irrelevant.

Joel Casamayor kept his lineal 135lb title in one of the most blatant robberies I've ever seen against Santa Cruz, Erdei was essentially beaten twice by Garay and should've lost his lineal title to him but the official result is all that matters when discussing lineage and they were lineal champions.

You can say what you'd like about the decision or that you don't think he deserved to be a lineal champion based on that fight but in the end it doesn't matter. #1/#2 in a division where lineage is in the air = lineal champion. You can only go off the result.

You're not winning by facts because the facts are the only way to win a lineal title is by beating the man who has the title in his weight class in a fight scheduled for championship rounds, or by having the #1 face the #2 in a fight scheduled for championship rounds. That's facts.

Bradley is not the lineal champ of 140lbs, when he and Devon Alexander fought they weren't universally recognized as the #1/#2 in the division with Amir Khan muddying up the top 3 rankings. Bradley is the #1 ranked fighter in the division but he's not the lineal champion. If Bradley would've been able to clear his mess with his promoter and secure the fight with Khan before Peterson beat him then that would've established a new lineal champ as they would've been a clear #1/#2.

Sergio called Pacquiao a coward because he won't man up and fight Floyd.
sergio also talked shit about floyd & cotto but sergio needs to realize there isn't much incentive for the big named fighters at 147/154 to fight the middleweight champ of the world if he doesn't bring in that much money.

Martinez needs to pick a division, I mean he's calling out all the little guys but fights at 160 and hasn't fought at 154 in two years. So imo he either needs to just fight the guys at 160 (Pirog, Quillin, etc.), or leave the division and campaign at 154. Otherwise there is no reason for guys like cotto, pac, floyd to fight him if he's 1-2 divisions above them.

So I don't pay much attention to sergio, he just wants a big fight for himself (and going about it in the wrong way imo). He's fighting guys like Barker and now Macklin and probably Andy Lee after that, which isn't going to get him any praise.

Mayweather Not Legally Capable To Move From May 5 Date

www.boxingscene.com

By Rick Reeno

Karen Winckler, the attorney for WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the boxer's adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, advised BoxingScene.com that Mayweather is "not legally" capable of rescheduling his planned return on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather has "contractual agreements" in place with several companies, which obligate Mayweather to fight on the planned May date.

Additionally, Winckler advised BoxingScene about the existing agreement with the Clark County Judicial Court, which also directs Mayweather to fight on May 5th. On January 6th, Mayweather was scheduled to begin serving a 90-day sentence for a domestic battery charge. The judge, per the request of Mayweather and Winckler, delayed the start of his sentence to June 1 - in order to allow Mayweather to fight on May 5 at the MGM.

"[Floyd] has contractual obligations to fight on May 5th. The MGM Grand wants him to fight on May 5th. That's Cinco De Mayo weekend and that's a very big weekend for the MGM and they want him to fight on that date," Winckler told BoxingScene.com

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, along with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, are trying to get Mayweather to fight them at the end of May in a specially designed outdoor venue on the Las Vegas strip.

Both Ellerbe and Winckler made it clear - there is no chance of Mayweather moving from already scheduled May 5th date.

"We have a legal commitment and we are not going to disrespect the judicial system. Floyd is going to fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand," Ellerbe said.

Mayweather Jr: If Martinez Can Make 150, We Can Fight

By Rick Reeno and Ryan Burton

Las Vegas - Pound for pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) had a media gathering at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, and presented a check for a $100,000 to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Nevada Affiliate, which is a charity that helps breast cancer survivors.

Mayweather emphatically stated that he is only interested in fighting fellow pound for pound champion Manny Pacquiao on May 5th at the MGM Grand. If the fight doesn't take place, Mayweather said that he would have to look to other options.

"Manny Pacquiao is the only fight I want. But, but, but if he won't fight me then I will have to fight someone else. I have to make a living," Mayweather stated.

The Las Vegas resident said that he hasn't thought about other potential opponents and that all of his focus is on Pacquiao. Mayweather was advised that middleweight king Sergio Martinez offered to come down to a catchweight of 150-pounds to fight him. After hearing this news, Floyd said that he would be interested in the potential match.

If Sergio Martinez can make 150, we can make the fight, absolutely. There are no excuses. If he can make 150, lets make it happen. I'm a little but different from the other guys. I think he has a very, very impressive style," Mayweather said.

Martinez returns on March 17th at New York's Madison Square Garden, against tough middleweight contender Matthew Macklin.

Mayweather Jr. Shoots Down Canelo, Cotto and Guerrero

By Rick Reeno

During a media interview with BoxingScene.com and a select group of writers, WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. shot down the three rumored options for May 5th - WBA junior welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, WBC junior welterweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, and former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero. Mayweather is scheduled to fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, on May 5th, and he made it clear that WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is the only opponent on his mind.

"There are so many young and strong champions out there, that I don't really know at this particular time [who I'll fight outside of Pacquiao]. There have been a few names thrown out there. But as far as the guy they're saying, "The Ghost" - absolutely not. I'm not going to give the fans nothing like that. I don't even know who this guy, but I wish him the best," Mayweather said.

"I think Cotto is a very good matchup, but once again, if I go against Cotto the fans and people will say that it's Pacquiao's leftovers. He's still a strong, solid champion in my eyes. When he fought Pacquiao, they fought at a catch-weight [of 145-pounds]. If we fight Cotto I would want him to be comfortable, where both guys are happy. I think Canelo would be a big fight, but I think he needs some more experience under his belt and then eventually we can make the fight happen down the line. Right now my main focus is Manny Pacquiao. Team Pacquaio, stop having your excuses. I have my guarantee, so let's make the fight happen. Every day I'm tweeting and tweeting and tweeting. Do I have to tweet again tonight? I'm basically chasing the guy."

Run Manny run or grow some nuts and fight Mayweather.
