The fighter would have to buy out their contract. I don't know what mannys current contract is, but when Floyd was with top rank he bought out his contract for just under $1 million. I think Floyd only had one or two fights left on his contract so it would likely be more for pac however totally worth it regardless

I'm guessing they would fight for cottos belt at 154. Maybe a catchweight but I doubt cotto would do that again.

RingTV.com has learned that a junior middleweight unification bout between WBA junior middleweight beltholder Miguel Cotto and WBC counter part Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is being negotiated.
Alvarez, of Mexico, has been considered as a potential rival for WBC welterweight beltholder Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Cotto, of Puerto Ricio, one for WBO welterweight titleholder Manny Pacquiao.

I want Manny to fight Bradley a prime undefeated fighter that has some real boxing skills. Ortiz was a fighter with no PPV fanbase and Mayweather did 1.25 million. Manny needs to fight a top young fighter and stop remixing old fighters. I'm sick of Manny fighting the same fighters over and over. Morales 3 times, Marquez 3 times, MAB 2 times. and now Cotto again. lol Come on man..
Bradley has no fan base ortiz had a strong following going into the mayweather fight especially after that fight of the year with berto believe me if berto would have beat ortiz and it was mayweather/berto that ppv would not have done good on ppv cuz berto although he is exciting has no fanbase being that he's haitian.... back to the pacquiao drama if it cotto that is pretty sad I just read that manny has selected his next opponent from the 4 choices which floyd isnt apart of smh....
Ortiz was never on PPV, so how can you say he had a following?? My point is it's time to let the young guys get some shine or a shot at super stardom by fighting the Top Dogs. I think you're dead wrong if you think that a undefeated Berto at the time would not have done a million plus against Mayweather or Manny. Mayweather gave Ortiz a shot and he had no PPV fanfare. When is Manny going to fight a strong young undefeated or prime fighter at the top of there game?? Bradley is that fighter for Manny. Mayweather proved that if you get in the ring with a young fighter that is a threat you will sell a PPV fight. Manny should be fighting Bradley period point blank fuck the no fanbase excuse. Manny fighting a undefeated 140lb #1 champion in Bradley will sell itself.
This is why I love cotto.. on a show today in Puerto Rico he said he would only fight pac at 147 for a guarantee of $20 million lol, and that he'd fight him at 154 for no less than $10 million. Basically that kills the fight hes no bitch. He also said hes itching to fight canelo to shut everyone up basically saying hes overrated and hasnt proven anything.
Whats funny is marquez also demanded $20 million so pac will likely have to fight bradley unless something changes.
