You obviously don't get what I'm saying b/c nowhere have I stated or implied that there are no hard people in San Diego or that all 300,000 people in STL or myself are harder than the hardest person in San Diego.

You're the one that isn't getting what I'm saying, you can disagree with it that's cool, but only if you get it and you clearly don't. I peeped that today too... but I thought San Diego was ranked the 186th safest city in the U.S... do some more detective work on SD's history, you might be suprised at what you find... there are reasons why the city of Saints ranks where it does in 2006... I think a lot of folks who call SD home remember when it was considered the 'Meth Capitol of the world'... before the gang injuctions... operations Brown, red, and blue rags... I don't think it's cool to glamorize murder rates and crime but before cities like, Seattle, Phoenix, and Vegas adopted the So Cal gangbang model the streets of San Diego (some of them) were flat out war zones... I've been to Oakland, DC, NY, Atlanta, the 'Shaw' and have never been caught off guard thanks to the way my folks in San Diego raised me...

Now that is a cool, intelligent response. Which decades was San Diego at its worst? Was it the 1970s - mid 1980s when most cities were at their absolute worst?

I grew up on Alderley Street in San Diego and I went back to visit a while back and it was pretty grimey. All my old homies were thugged out. If you would have read a couple of pages back, you would know I have been to San Diego a couple of times. No, it doesn't mean I have been to the specific spots in San Diego people are mentioning, yes I did go to the Zoo and Sea World which I know is not the real San Diego. I ended up in Imperial Beach at one point, and yeah it wasn't a wealthy place by any stretch of the imagination. The worst I ever been to or seen was Over the Rhine in Cincinnati, the North Side of St. Louis, Robert Taylor in Chicago, Northwest Milwaukee, East Cleveland, MLK District in Atlanta, North Memphis, East Oakland, Anacostia in DC, Birmingham AL & Gary IN, now those were some fuckin hoods right there. I am sorry but nowhere in San Diego holds the same concentrations of poverty & violence as the mentioned places. Why are you guys so offended by this notion? I'm not saying people like Mitchy Slick or some of you guys are lying, so what's the problem?

Anyways, I respect everybody's opinions, I am not calling any of you guys who've lived in Dago flat out liers, and I realize there is some subjectivity in this topic, no matter how hard I try to make it statistical. 1) I already made that point for myself, I told you myself that I have not been to the "real San Diego", I was only pointing out that you were simply incorrect in your "you've never been to San Diego" statement.

Its like the fact that the city of san Diego,although having hoods,is not as gutter as alot of other cities,hurts some of yall.grow up and be thankful.Every ghetto is hard, but San Diego has less Ghettos than alot of other cities,and thats homies point.San Diegos minority communities arent as impoverished and violent as alot of other cities.Its just a fact,and its a good thing so be proud and do what you can to make your communities even better.Poverty,and the ignorance,crime and violence it breeds is nothing to be proud of.We look like idiots slaughtering each other daily over bullshit,and the powers that be want it that way.I grew up in one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in America so trust me In know.
