In my state blacks make up 5% of the state and over 45% of the prisons.The vast majority of these brothers arent beating up old ladies,robbing people or breaking into peoples homes.They are dealing drugs,a non violent crime.And they are doing this because the USA purposely tries to keep us from making a living the 'legal' way ( a legit,livable wage paying job).


Id say its similar coast to coast,but the system wants to keep us unemployed and underemployed,wait for us to slip up,and then just lock us up.


The first law of human nature is self preservation.When people feel like they have no other choice,they will do what it takes to feed and clothe themselves.

yeah im knowing most people arent doing shit like that, i was just posing the question, just for discussion. its a cold game cuz you know if drugs were legalized, they could take so much money out of the prisons and put it into education so people could make smarter decisions about whether or not they choose to use drugs...but then again if it was legal the government would be regulating it so hard that no one would be making any money off it except these rich corporate muthafuckas anyway. and then again if it was legalized the powers that be would have a much harder time locking up the type of people they want imprisoned anyway.

but to get back to the original topic, i havent been all throughout SD but one time i took a trip down a street i think was called University Avenue (Dago cats correct if im wrong) and through some side streets in the area. i feel like theres no way you can say SD isnt hood. it's like LA or any other metropolitan city for that matter, you have your affluent areas and your hoods. saying dago aint hood is like saying LA isnt hood just because of beverly hills.

#1) Its real easy to take some pics of google of decent looking parts of SD, show some grimy parts of other cities, and apply it as fact. The problem for you is you have NO credibility regarding anything applying life in Dago cause you've never been no farther than Sea World, this post shows that...

#2) There's places all across the nation with high crime in nice looking neighborhoods. The fact you associate "hoodness" with appearance just shows me how clueless you really are.

Name me one person in this thread whose said that Dago is harder than any other place in America? The only people I seen were other niggas coming in here to prove how harder they're hood is than Dago, taking this thread way off course. I'll be the first person to tell you Dago ain't as crazy as alot of other cities, and I fell you regarding this being a better place to raise a family. All we've been saying is, don't get shit twisted we have hoods...just like any other city. The thread starter made this thread with the impression that Dago is just some big ass resort and we're just making it clear that its no different than most cities in America. I didn't see anyone bragging or being proud of having a fucked up enviroment, if so than I missed that and I'm wrong.

i feel what your sayin but i have to ask this, where do you draw the line as far as what you consider "crime"? if crime is your only means to survive, is it ok to beat up an old lady and steal her purse? would you feel that it was "crime" if somebody broke into your house and stole your possessions? but just to make it clear im not tryna start an argument with you, just posing the question...i feel like it's even worse than crippling people, as you mentioned. it comes down to the bottom line, the $$$ and anything that stands in the way of that or is not profitable, i.e. making poor and/or crime-infested neighborhoods safer and more livable, gets pushed down to the bottom of the priority list and thus results in the conditions we're talkin about today.

that was my point! where does THE FBI draw the line behind crime? crime is too broad to talk about in this. the original question was is san diego hood? i had a car for years but i decided i'd rather walk and drink liquor and smoke blunts and write on things while i walked to the buses....thats just a hood mentality, like last night i chilled downtown with the homeless and the crack dealers and the addicts after eating at horton plaza becuase im used to shit like that. i like buying cigarettes for 25 cents and sharing liquor and getting into conversations while big ass roaches walk by my feet... its just a regular hood mentality you have. some peopel wont do that some people will. and i'm not special, theres many like me...many harder peopel than me...people who do more crime..theres alot of us in san diego...i cant downplay our communities problems either.

its cool when the majority of your city has money but if YOU dont have money...where does that leave you?
