I will be the first one to admit that the bay dont really have too many tight lyricists.. i can only think of like 5 or 6 decent lyricists in the whole bay area but the same can be said for LA and its not like LA is poppin right now either only game and snoop are doing their thing... but lyrics dont have shit to with it most people dont care about lyrics a hot beat and a catchy hook is what makes a hit these days... maybe delivery and flow but not lyrics...
Region has alot too do with it.... for example.
Imagine if some of your fav rappers where from other regions such as NY or LA.

2 name a few non-hyphy yet lyrical as a muthafucka, it all comes down too region... i know for a fact that if they were placed in bigger regions. they would have blown. why? because they can outwrite/spit alotta rappers in the game.
