definately wasn't a robbery could have gone either way. ESPN scored it a draw and yahoo sports had maidana winning by 2 points so that shows how close it was.

as for golden boy wanting a rematch i don't think that's necessary the case. maidana now is saying there are bigger names he wants at 140. and morales says if no rematch he wants marquez.

Morales just showed people why he's a legend in boxing. He's clearly past his prime and he still took Maidana to school and hurt about five times in the fight.
Khan will get his soon he has stamina problems, a weak chin, and his defense is not very good. Khan's a knock out waiting to happen.

Ze Germans sure know how to promote their fighters as gods:

A little artistic license used by German TV network Sat.1 promoting their boxing broadcast on Saturday night featuring the fourth title defense WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz against Khoren Gevor, taking place in Stieglitz’ hometown of Magdeburg.
Wild night as Stieglitz wins by DQ. Gevor was fouling throughout the fight, had been warned multiple times, points deducted and finally he tackled Stieglitz which resulted with both of them on the canvas and Stieglitz with a very bad cut from a clash of heads. The ref called a DQ and Gevor ends up attacking the ref, security has to come in and escort him out. lol

that advertisement is hella funny. Looks like a cover to a porno. That reminds me of Zab Judah after he got knockedout and then tried to attack the ref

Morales wasn't robbed. It was a draw at very best. Maidana took the first 4 and the last 2, without question.

No way Cortez is going to let Kirkland get up. The first knockdown was legitimate. Kirkland folded over. The second can be considered as a flash, if getting hit in the face 6 times in 8 seconds and falling back is considered a flash. Let's call it a flash, so be it. The third knockdown Kirkland fell flat on his back, alsmot hit his head on the canvas and at best would have made it up by 6. Over a minute left in the round, no need for Kirkland to be punched around like that. It would have been the same all night long. Good stoppage. The entire crowd was booing at Kirkland's excuses and cheering Ishida's win. If Kirkland dropped Ishida 3 times in the first it would have been stopped as well. Legit call.

I have no problem with the stoppage, although as a Kirkland fan of course I wanted him to get up.

Cortez is a very inconsistent ref though. He reffed Pacquiao-Marquez I and Marquez was knocked down 3 times in the first round, and the last knock down did not look good, marquez was stretched out on the canvas with his hands over his eyes and didn't appear like he wanted to continue, and yet Cortez gave the full count, marquez suddenly decided to get up around the count of 7 and the rest is history.

Yeah I don't think it was a robbery at all. It's a sentimental thing that happens when you think a guy is there to get crushed and he does amazingly better than what most people expected at the end of the fight a lot of people think that he won the fight based on him doing better than what they thought he was gonna do + overall fanfare.

What an awesome fight though and extremely unexpected..

Kirkland was done. They had plenty of time in the round he was getting wobbled by every solid punch Ishida landed and on that last knock he tried to get up with his shoulder he was hurt so badly .. he can say what he likes and I'm sure he believes it but that was game over.

Guerrero was just stupid impressive..

unbelievable. Great fight but what pisses me off is THIS IS WHY GAMBOA VS LOPEZ should have happened by now. I wanted Gamboa to be the first to beat lopez. Bob Arum trying to milk lopez and "build" the fight more I had a feeling this would happen. now that mini-super fight isn't going to happen or not any time soon.
