wow great fight. morales is a damn warrior that eye was just about as bad as vargas against mosley. i can't believe he fought that well with a shut eye from round one and nearly won it wad really close i had maidana winning by a point but it could have easily been a draw or maybe even morales winning by one point.

I'm gutted about james kirkland those two years in prison fucked him up bad. he walked through bombs from julio like it was nothing and gets tko'd by a soft puncher tonight. unfucking real. On top of that his trainer kenny adams collapsed in the dressing room after. Maybe he needs to go back to Ann Wolfe, I dunno.

the ghost looked awesome. That was probably his best performance. Katsidis is a warrior as usual.

Crazy fight. It was nice to see that Morales. I'm not trying to sound like an old timer, not like it's that old, but that is what boxing used to be. You had people like that. Boxer, fighter, slugger, whatever...they came there to do one thing and that's there job. Now people want to manage themselves, make rules, rap on the side, be an accountant, be involved in contractual negotiations. Morales is a true hall of famer that comes in to do one thing, and that's to do what he does best. Seeing that tonight took me back a bit. That is what made us into a fan of the sport. It's just not the same anymore. Him and a lot of the older fighters (the list goes on) are the ones that I get to boast to my kids or youngsters in the future, just like some of the old-school fans do today (Pernell, Mancini, Duran, Haglar, Leonard, etc.). I don't mean to go on some personal rant, but it was just really good to see Morales get in there and put on a showcase for us again.

On a side note, Ishida came in there, whooped ass, and the crowd was cool about it (booing Kirkland and cheering Ishida).

Great card all round.

I thought Lemieux had a broken jaw after the fight. The swelling around his cheeks hinted at it to me.

Paulie/Cotto was surprisingly decent to me.

Kirkland got caught with a punch he didn't see coming on the point of the chin with that first punch. His chin was softened up from that point forward. Goes to show that you don't have to be a huge puncher. Accuracy is just as important. He was on wobbly legs after that first knockdown though. All of the rest of the big punches were right on the chin.

Guerrero/Katsidis was sick. Surprised me too. I'm proud of my boy Guerrero.

Morales...wow. I immediately noticed that eye was swollen halfway through the first. Amazing that he finished the fight, much less made it close. His defense was mostly crap and refused to guard his face. I thought he won by 1 round cause I thought he took rounds 11 and 12. I could see a draw but a majority decision by 2 points for Maidana pissed me off. Morales surprised a lot of people and made me proud though. Great fight. i don't know which top fighters he could beat. Speed is going to be an issue for him. Seems like he can see the punches coming but can't get out of the way of them. Maidana was a perfect opponent for him. Khan would jab him half to death i think. Though i think his experience would take him a long way vs. Bradley.
