But how is it a choice if it's predetermined (it was already written in stone)?

Look, my path is already a strait line (A leads to B, I cannot jump to X). If I chose to be a Christian, then I just fucked up Gods master plan. God's head would explode because he knew (or thought) I'd live the rest of my life an Atheist.

If I chose to become a Christian today, God would already know this (because he knows all). It might appear that I have a choice, but god knew I would make this choice before I was even created.

If I don't make the choice, god already knew I wouldn't accept him and would remain an atheist.

Both examples are predetermined.

Pre-determined, but never controlled like a Robot. From what me, ROb and GTS might see or think, we might assume you'd go to hell. As far as God can see, you could always change. You never know where you're going, if God created you to be an atheists, then he might as well have made all of us like robots right? Then again, the belief in freewill comes into play.

lol at you thinking you would screw up God's plan. That's pretty arrogant. You choose to not believe, it doesn't change the opportunity there for you.

@2-0 Sixx You still have the power of choice. You dont know your own future so you cant make any decisions on that basis alone. You have your own thought and are not programmed into a thought process. The books you read the sights you see and the feelings you experience are all signs of choices.

How is it arrogant when I don't even believe in God? I was using that to prove a point which is simple and logical - If god knows all, then he knows our future which means our lives our predetermined thus, man does not have freewill. (which proves my point that the belief in a higher power who is all-knowing and yet man has free will, is an illogical belief and contradicts logic).

If man does not have freewill, why do we think the way we think? It's predetermined by him where we go, but since we DON'T KNOW, you do your best to please him and do good.

Yes, I understand that I still have a choice but your missing my point.

(Again, assuming I will remain Atheist my entire life) God knew before he created me that I would remain an Atheist and knew what choices I would ultimately make (not believing in him), thus he knowingly created an Atheist.

WE DO HAVE FREEWILL!
There just isn't a god.

Doesn't really matter since it's predetermined. If I don't do my best, it's because it was predetermined. Blame god, no me.

You dont seem to understand what it is we are trying to say. Okay look at it like this. When you get up in the morning do you decide what to have for breakfast or do you instantly reach for a spoon and ceral. No thought just automatically, everyday. Do you do that? Iam not talking about a morning ritual of doing that. Iam saying that you think of nothing else for breakfast, you dont even think of breakfast you just go from point a to b with no thought.

THE CONCEPT OF THOUGHT ALONE IS PROOF OF FREEWILL.

My Opinion my friend. Peace.

Your simple logic is flawed. You choose to not believe. No Freewill? Bro you can go into your old work and go postal, or you could give money to a homeless. God is not interferring with either of those. Unless your programmed alittle different, each day brings choices you choose human instinct over Jesus.

I understand the concept of freewill, however, if god already knows what decisions I will make before I make them and before he even creates me, they are predetermined. There may be an illusion of freewill, but since god knows all before he creates us, our lives our predetermined. Simple logic.

I agree God knows what I will do. It says he knows the number of hairs on my head. Does he give me the chance to make my future? Of course.

No your logic is flawed.

But God knew before he made me that I would not believe.

No Freewill?
Not if God knows our outcomes before he creates us.

I know I can (I'm not the one with faulty logic beliefs).

God is not interferring with either of those.
No he is not, but he would know I went postal before he created me since he is all-knowing, thus our lives are predetermined.

^^^Very True. But at the same time he lets me make the decision that will ultimatly lead me to the point he already knows exists. It is my choice to make those decisions.

I will come back later or Tomarrow, I have a 3 tests and a paper due tomarrow so I have to go. Peace 2-0 Sixx.

Everybody (including 2-0 Sixx) God Bless and have a good night.

You can believe or not I'm not trying to attack you, I actually wish you the best. But your sidestepping that you are choosing to not believe. You make your life out to be what you want whether that be with Jesus or not. Anyone can change.

I think my points are going over your head for some reason.

Yes, I'm well aware that I make the decision to believe in whatever I want to believe or not. I know that.

My argument is simple - if you hold the belief that God knows all and at the same time man has freewill - this is not logically possible. If God knows all, he knows our outcomes which means our lives are predetermined. God knew I'd be an atheist before he even made me. If I chose to believe in him, then he would have already of known I would make that decision.

You don't follow this?

God knows I will end up X.

He creates me, thus I can never be Z because it was predetermined that I will be X.

You can say that I have all the freewill you want but the simple matter is it was predetermined that I would be X.

One last thing before I go to work. @2-0-Sixx, it would be nice to see you as a man of Jesus. A socialist Christian with the right intellectuals and right political views. We need more people like you-sounds like a cult speaking huh? HAHA, nah on the reals, If ever there was a time whether we knew of it or not that you converted or conformed, I bet God would have a big plan for you, seeing how you are an activist and socialist and care so much for your people. Peace and God bless, be back at 11 hehe.
