delivering pizzas sucks balls. So does taking orders of the people gas mentioned, hella customized orders and shit. They chose 20 different toppings and then complain when their pizza cost 30 bucks

Damn, I could only wish. I did that shit in north Fontana in like 1994 before most of the new homes got built. They had a map of our service area and about 20% was colored red. We wouldn't deliver there because drivers had been robbed at some point.

2 things: Not tipping is unethical. You asked someone to drive to your house and give you food. And the job is there because of the demand of the consumer, so don't go blaming the driver for his choice in jobs. The job exists and remains in existence because YOU order food for delivery. A business wouldn't have that position if it wasn't necessary.

With that said, it's not a huge deal when you don't get tipped. You're gonna have the people that tip you too much and balance things out. I once got a $30 tip on a $40 order. Once I got stiffed on a $300 order.

It's all a matter of principle. It's a sign of appreciation to the driver to tip them. That's it.

I'm really straight forward with tipping the pizza delivery service. Pretty much if you show up late with pizza, carry a chip on your shoulder, or both im only giving a dollar or two for the tip.
But i f you arrive timely and are somewhat friendly (not asking for much just mannerly) then I usually shell out five bucks. And if its hella pies for like a party of folks I try gather up 10 plus.

Tipping at a resaurant and bars have hella factors to me but its pretty simple for a pizza delivery in my eyes. And I feel that earlier dive bar comment, you will be rewarded for gratitude. Also ask for reccomendations on drinks and act like you appreciate the bartenders knowledge. They usually love it and make you really stiff cockateils lol.

my girl was a server before she became Manager of a restaurant, and servers expect at least 20% of the bill. 30% is good. and if you dont tip, they will remember you. When someone stiffs them, all the servers in the restaurant will know about it, cuz they usually willl talk shit about you to the other servers and point you out while your walkin out the place.

30%??? thats ridiculous

im pretty sure its universally about 15% is the lowest u should go, and 20% is a good tip.

i usually double the tax...which is like 19.5%

exactly, waiters and drivers shouldnt be expecting tips, and people that don't tip shouldn't expect to get discounts or good service on future visits.

LOL @ having to tip

Why should i give someone MORE money for doing there damn job? That makes no damn sense. When I fix a computer at work, i dont get tipped, BECAUSE ITS PART OF MY GODDAMN JOB DESCRIPTION.
Nor do I get tipped when I fix a computer. But for people in the food service industry, TIPPING IS PART OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION. Thats why they get a shitty hourly wage. You try to figure out a monthly budget while having to depend on cheapskates for the bulk of your income.

It's obvious you've never worked in the food service industry, and never worked for tips so you'll probably never understand. Its usually shitty work, dealing with dickhead customers all day, for low wages, but decent tips if you're good and your customers aren't social rejects who fail to understand the custom of tipping.

When you go to a restaurant you do so with certain expectations. You expect food cooked and brought to you in a timely fashion. You expect your orders to be taken accurately. In return, you're expected to add a percentage to your bill and give it directly to your server. That's the way it is, and has been for years. You being a cheap fuck won't change that, it'll only build resentment.

Agree with it or don't, but I believe that if you don't tip, you're a dick. Plus it's bad karma.
