Somewhere along the line tipping became expected even though it shouldnt have IMO. People used to tip because they received exceptional service, nowadays a tip is expected even if you get shit service. Why it became expected I'm not sure and I don't condone it lol

you know what's pretty weak. you go to starbucks or something and those mothafuckas expect a tip. For what? you poured me a fucking coffee bitch how does that make you deserve a tip. And i see so many douche bags dropping 5s in there and shit. They're just making these baristas(lol) expect the tips even more.

hell yea a tip is earned. when I go to a restruant the waiter starts off with 4 bucks and I add or subtract a dollar depending on the service throughout the night. sum might come out with a 30 % tip sum might get 2% tip its all on them. I donot reward shitty service. mediocore service ok what ever but flat out ignore me and my fam. then its fuck u. I actually had to tip another waiter after being ignored by my own waiter. he was more than happy to help the white family next to us . somehow we were invisible. either way tipped dude 1 dollar and the other 5. just for getting us drink refills and a napkin. I gotta say fuck redrobin @ the tucson mall.

LOL yea that red robin fucking sucks! i remember going there so wasted on xanax for a friends party acting a damn fool... i broke 2 glasses in there it was funny as fuck, i might of tiped good just because i was so fucking wasted and they had to deal with me... either way fuck that place, shits not even that good anyways...

Yeah, if a customer is unruly or obnoxious, or has no shirt on....but no establishment is going to refuse a customer becuase they dont tip...are you serious? And how would they know if they are going to tip when they walk in? Tipping happens AFTER a meal. So your point makes zero sense.

It made sense when I first brought it up. Something about frequenting the the same establishment and being known as a nontipper.

If you frequent the same establishment and don't follow the custom of tipping, I'm sure you'll find that it's not mandatory to serve people in the order that they came. And it's not mandatory for the food to be hot or made correctly.

Anyways, I don't tip for shitty service either. I'll tell them "normally I'm a big tipper but you had a chip on your shoulder the whole night" or something similar. Then not give them shit. Fuck rewarding bad service. The custom of tipping should weed out shitty servers and reward good servers.

And yes, too many people are putting out tip jars for stupid shit. I'll only put my change in it just because I don't like having coins in my pockets.
