Wax, man if that's how you really feel, put it down on tape and let people know. Give em something to relate to, because god knows we can all relate to the sad state of hip hop in general. But I got to disagree with you. I think the quality of Bay Area rap has everything to do with its decline. The bay stopped innovating... it's just parties, guns and hos. Nothing real on the most part, nothing that makes you open your mouth and say "oh shit..." when you hear it. The Bay can do better.

And for the fuckin record,
Did I buy it?
Stillmatic: Yes.
Blueprint: I'd sooner take it up the ass from an African eliphant.

I don't like that pop rap shit. I didn't even steal the blueprint...

PS, G, I never said your sales were weak. If you say you're selling fine, then I believe you.

A-Wax... What you said is partially true about paying off catz to not support local artist. But check this tho, if you and all your fanz, homies and other artist stand behind a station like KPOO we can do big thangz together. Flood KPOO with yo music and tell folks to tune in. Now if everyone do that, just imagine the type of buzz that would be generated. It will be big!!! KPOO don't go everywhere but, as far as Oakland, Richmond, Marin, Daly City, Hayward and Frisco. Thats alot of listeners and potential customers.

Young Moe... Send yo shit to the station and we will play it, no bullshit. Send it Attn: Mr. C, Asst. M.D. and that goes to everyone. I challenge all ya'll to send me yo shit so I/we can play it. If you don't, then stop crying about radio play. Start small and work yo way up to KMEL. But when you do send it, FOLLOW UP WITH YO SHIT. So many catz stop calling or try to get interviews after the first time of me playin their shit.

I feel alot of what you guys are sayin but the only thing is what ive been... on the honesty point... in my eyes for what ive seen the bay is coming up but its part of the promotions department or your street team to make sure that the word is out about whos ever album is coming out... for example, i didnt even now Mr. Kee's "Latin Plauge" was coming out until i came on this board.. and by the tyme i had figured it out it was already released...I did not see any promotions or flyers or anything of anything where i live which is san pablo/richmond.. so it kinda came as a surprised to me I went to my mom n pop stores that I know carries Kee and they where like "we dont have it cause nobody has delievered to us" or "even approached us about it" I was like what.......

So to me if the bay wants to be successful they need to get promotions n everythin else ready to so people know what coming... like kee says "East Coast is gettin 100 grand a verses and we aint even coming near that"..

My other issue is that there is a local fan base but if some of the tracks would at least get airplay on 106 or 949 then there would be a bigger fan base lookin for the cd in stores....

Also if all these major stores (KMART,TARGET) some into our terriorty and dont stock our music so if they wanna come and make business in our area then they should be able to stock our music too....

There never was a million cats getting paid and reconized in the bay, just like there isnt that many on the east right now. 10-20 10-20. just seems like there must be alot because thats all cats see is east coast.

We need shit where you had 40 LEGIT and CELLY, or PAC, dre and snoop.

NOW we got one artist here the other some where else, this lable ceo wont let this artist be featured on this cd, or it takes to long to get clearence. cost to much for beats and studio time. and the biggest thing

MY PROJECT IS MORE IMPORTANT!!!

FUCK THAT if i ever make it in rappin i'll be on as many features as possible. work on my project at the same time but show some love when it comes down to it.

Also nobody thats thuggish from the bay or anywhere in cali bout to call the radio station and be like "can you play that new c-bo" hell na cats to busy for that and if you got the cd why you gone turn the radio on just to hear one song. The video thing. mostly only white folks watch that so what you gon see white music, jz nas dre snoop and that shit.

Why you think suge so dammm mad at snoop and dre they left his lable when he was in a hard spot which is fucked up enough but then they go and become pussy's who bring down west coast music right before our eyes.

i cant pull up to a lifted truck with a white cat in it with out hearing jz dre or snoop. and it gets them off, it makes um hard. you look over and they on some punk shit looking like they wanna get down. cant walk through the mall with my wife "puerto rican 5'0 100lbs 32dd 24 36 long black hair" with out people of all color commin up and trying to fight me and trying to hook up with her. Why because they nuttin off that dre snoop and jz music. WHite cats go from rock thinkin they cool to hearing dre and they like dammm im gangsta now.

shits fucked up more then ya'll think.

the west just need to get one major with push and well be straight.

meaning unless cats get to gether we better prey crooked I go 10 times plat and puts the west coast back in the eyes of white america.

what about san diego????????????????????????????????????????????? cant get no love from no where

the bay just needs more time.. heads gettin big deals and shit.. give it time..

if 40 water can scan, what, 700,000? then with the right budget Jacka can scan at least 500,000... AT LEAST. that Jacka tape is classic too..

plain and simple: if you got money, you'll make it. you won't just sell for the fact you have a CD out. get out. promote the shit out it. make connections.

Stop worrying what is scanning and focus on the music. E-40 can scan 6 million and he is still weak to me.

Man i've been saying from day one that the Jacka's "Hey Girl" could be a hit. A bigger hit would be "1,2,3"...That is some straight Harlem Shake shit, the East would love that shit. "Die Young would be pretty popular also, because the beat by Rob Lo was straight up cold how could you hate that track. Husalah's "Hustlin Ass" is another tight song that could be popular all assuming that they made Radio friendly versions of these songs. I just won over a handful of East Coast fans that now love Husalah for that song. I told them to go to Northern-ridaz and hear that song. Now folks PM'ing about his album and when it's gonna drop. Oh theres talent in the Bay and you don't have to change your style to fit Jay or them. The South ain't changed there style, they made us like there production the Bay don't have to do that either, it just has to be tight.

It's funny when folks say that we have too many rappers flooding the market. I don't even notice it when I go to the record store. Because I flipped through those rappers like nothing. I usually have in mind what I want and if I don't I look around and find someone that I know or I heard was tight. But all them other rappers forget em.

bay area fans

Bay area fans didnt go nowhere its the media that shut the bay down all the publications and all the major lables hardly got a bay artist so with no big million dollar budget from a bay artist no bay area fans just your normal underground sell a couple thousand artist ...
Thats why its so important to write these publications radio etc. for bay area support....thats just my opinion

(without promotion or multimedia capital communication there are no new fans or existing fans knowing what the hell is going on pleez beeleev it)
