BAY AREA FANZ MAKE THEY`RE OWN BED BY NOT SUPPORTIN THEY ARTISTS,POINT BLANK.
No, you have that backwards. Bay area RAPPERS make their own beds by throwing together half-ass crap and recycling. Why should any fan support music that doesn't deserve it. You think people owe you a sale just because you figured out how to make a song? Get gone with that bullshit. Mutha fuckas like you need to learn that you have to EARN fans and their support. You don't deserve anything.
HOW ANYBODY CAN BUY A JAY-Z OR NAS OR AZ OR ANY EAST KOAST ALBUM OVER A P.S.D. OR JACKA OR A-WAX OR RICHIE RICH OR ANY BAY AREA ALBUM WHEN YOU REP THA BAY AREA IS BEYOND ME.
Maybe because Jay-Z, Nas, and a lot of east coast cats are doing better music than your same tired shit? Ever consider that? You need to get off your high-horse thinkin' that the bay is still putting out the best music around. The bay ruined it for itself so quit trying to blame everyone else. When you point fingers, make sure the FIRST person you point it at is yourself.
YOU DUMB MUTHAFUCKAZ,DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT KINDA MUZIK SOMEBODY LIKE,SAY B.A.,COULD MAKE WITH A NAS ALBUM BUDGET?!?OR P.S.D.?!?
Yeah... Typical bay area beats. Raps about how hard he is and how many bitches he fucks. You don't need Nas album budget money to make hot music but you do need your head to be in the right place and from what I've seen so far.....
...HERES THA DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BAY AREA RAP & DOWN SOUTH OR EAST KOAST RAP....1:$$BIG BUDGETS&FAN SUPPORT!MUTHAFUCKAZ SELL 100,000 IN TEXAS ALONE(BEESH TOLD ME)YOU MEAN TO TELL ME JACKA CANT SELL 5,000?!?I KNOW THIS,IT AINT HIZ FAULT.
Whose the fuck fault do you think it is then? I can't stand people like you who are steady blaming everybody and their mama for your own failures but never taking responsibility for them yourself. If Jacka ain't got it crackin' then that's Jack's fault. It's HIS job to make sure his hustle is right.

Get this through your head right now.. NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING! What you get, you EARN. What you get, you HUSTLE. If you don't have any hustle about yourself, don't come around crying and blaming other people about it. Nobody is interested in hearing you whine. You are trying to swim in an ocean full of sharks and either you learn how to be a shark yourself or get the fuck up out of the water.

The hard truth is rap ain't for everybody even though everybody thinks they can be a rapper. You can't fault somebody for trying but atleast be a MAN about the shit and accept responsibility when it doesn't work out for you.

A-Wax... What you said is partially true about paying off catz to not support local artist. But check this tho, if you and all your fanz, homies and other artist stand behind a station like KPOO we can do big thangz together. Flood KPOO with yo music and tell folks to tune in. Now if everyone do that, just imagine the type of buzz that would be generated. It will be big!!! KPOO don't go everywhere but, as far as Oakland, Richmond, Marin, Daly City, Hayward and Frisco. Thats alot of listeners and potential customers.

Young Moe... Send yo shit to the station and we will play it, no bullshit. Send it Attn: Mr. C, Asst. M.D. and that goes to everyone. I challenge all ya'll to send me yo shit so I/we can play it. If you don't, then stop crying about radio play. Start small and work yo way up to KMEL. But when you do send it, FOLLOW UP WITH YO SHIT. So many catz stop calling or try to get interviews after the first time of me playin their shit.

You can't worry about the industry in general Wax, you have to do you. If you put together solid album after solid album people will begin to take notice. The bottom line is talent, maybe you'll never reach the status you should or feel that you should because money is the end all of everyting, however if you do quality music and establish yourself as someone who doesn't recycle, who doesn't go half ass then you build a solid following. Myself I don't have false hopes for my album however I put time and every dime that I have into this album and you can hear that when you play it, you feel the pain.. you feel the struggle.. you feel the reality. Alot of bay rappers are so stagnant it's ridiculous, they refuse to grow on any level. 10 albums of i shot you, fucked your bitch and all of that gets old. Myself I know I changed alot.. as a 15-16 year old I only listened to bay music, cali music, now I listen to anything from anywhere if it's tight. Think about this....if everyone from everywhere only supported who was local nobody would be "big". Don't hate or talk down on Jay-z or Nas because you ain't sellin.. talk down on Mc WackAsFuck aka 9 out of every 10 rappers who honestly for the good of the game need to realize they need to hang it up. There's plenty of money for all to get a little bit but not everyone is meant to rap, go into marketing.. invest in something.. financial backer... something. I'm not saying you Wax, and I aint dissin you I'm just comin at you as if we was fokes and chillin talkin this situation over for realz. U feel me?

FUCK A HIP HOP SHOW DOG
all gravy if you want your next album to sell 2k. Why would people buy your shit if they've never heard it before? The radio obviously isnt supporting bay shit, so maybe artists should start doin more shows or start or have hip hop clubs where theres artists rhyming all night. If you look at the three present capitols of mainstream MTV BET Radio rap (to me its LA, NY, Atlanta) they all have successful hip hop clubs and their artists all have a chance to showcase their talent.

Alright I got a simple metaphor to sum up the situation...if your homies on your block were slangin bud (The bay) and some cats up the street were slangin bud(New York, Down South, etc) and your homies had brown weed and the cats up the street had green weed who would you buy from.

i try and support all the GOOD bay area artists, but damn, shits flooded these days. everyone thinks they can rap and even the old school playas that i used to like seem like they dont put as much effort into thier shit. i cant tell ya how many times last year alone i bought a cd listened to the shit like twice and gave it or threw it away. and folks always say the same thing-"ITS HEATED"-then you buy it and its garbage. i think people are havin a hard time findin the tight shit cuz theres way too much weak shit floodin the stores.

wax peep if artist want to sell big units you gotta give the people what they want,it all starts with production, you have to have the best production your money can buy, also ,stay in the lab till you run out of ideas,be sure your product is the best you can offer, look at what the current trends are and go the other way, record at the best studio possable have a budget of about 10K to record mix and master this should also cover some other cost ,maybe guess, some of the production, etc, dont rush tryin to release for summer, call me lol!! have a clear idea of how your gonna promote your album pass out mixed mode cds with a video and show footage and an interview, have a good web site

I think us indie cats should consider lowering retail prices in a major way.
Eventually cd prices need to drop to 10-12$. \
Why get a burnt copy for 5$ when you get the original for 10$?
THe music biz is dying out cuz you can get a new DVD or Playstation game for the same price as a cd that you could get for free.
