not feelin either album, sad to say the last good album he put out was charlie hustle. seems like some of these old skool rappers (snoop, too short, e-40, quinn, c-bo, etc, etc, etc) don't know when to put the mic down, it's not like e-40 needs the money.

u know tay u are on my favorite rappers of all time and all that, but i just dont get what ur really saying here. u didnt once say u like the album or the beats on this album so im not sure what your stance is, u just gave props to 40 for putting out an album which is not that big of a deal he does this every year. but as far as rappers being compared, thats going to happen all day. rap is art and a business but its also competition and i mean it when i say that 40 is shitting on a lot of the younger guys in the game right now imo. rappin isnt easy either its just easy to some, obviously its easy to you.

but with that being said, u have some classic material under your belt but nothing recent thats mindblowing and thats what im waiting on from you. your last comment about hyphy throwing things off just is a cop out to me. 40 was dropping gems during that era and so were a lot of rappers. i hear a lot of excuses but what great movement got thrown off that now we are struggling to get back on track?? fill me in cuz im not sure. and yeah i made the comment he can still rap after all these years cuz a lot of rappers fall off not because of dope or a fake sense of reality, but because they get old and too comfortable or dont care about the music anymore, this is obviously not the case with 40. dont take this as any kind of hate im just expressing my opinion on the subject.

so if it makes your trunk rattle then automatically its a dope beat? its good to see 40 still puttin albums out but just wasnt really feelin the albums
lol speaking for myself who has been into car audio for over 10yrs. When you have a system for so long you tend to only listen to beats that knock in the ride. And even if its a good song, if the beat don't knock you tend to judge it as "not worthy" to be played since it does not make the subs kick. Now on the other hand if the beat knocks but its a shitty song, chances are your going to look past that because your more focused on how hard the bass line is hitting. Ya its pretty sad but true. I know good music and have a taste for the 90s mobb shit era but chances are if I hear a song with a strong bass line but to me the song sucks or not my taste in music, I may still bump it cause it knocks for the bass line. A good example of this was a few years back I heard the "Mariah Carey - We Belong Together" song and was like man that shit would hit hard in the ride. So I downloaded it and bumped it in the ride.

40's spit is on point as usual, but like others say the production is lackin. How would yall compare this to his last album? ...or last 2 albums?? Ball st and ghetto report card was hittin way harder than anything on here imo (production wise). I make beats so I listen for beats over lyrics. Ya it's better if it knocks in the trunk but not a must if it's a tight composition, if it's just a kick and clap it don't get my attention no matter how vicious the spit. It's vice versa too it can be a tight beat and somethin in the vocal ruins the track, like an annoying ass repetitive hook, caught a few of these on here. I been a 40 fan and hope he sells a grip, just think his last couple had more standout material. Imma knock it some more and hope it grows on me tho.. 1
