@Discuss: I don't think Bochey is that bad, what don't you like about him? (Besides the fact that he had wayyyyyyy to much faith in dick-in-the-butt Howry)

Everything is wrong with Bochy, for one he doesn't know how to put a line up together. If a veteran has a good at bat he'll keep them in the same spot, and ride it out once he's cold. I want a more aggressive skipper but would rather see Sabean go if it had to be someone. I can deal with Bochy but not Sabean

He did a really good job last year for the garbage bats he had. He actually got votes for manager of the year because of what he did last year you can't put all the blame on him.

i he had something to work with, maybe he could show what he can do..........but when his option is a veteran or a journeyman young guy that will have no impact on the team in the future..........he made the right choice and went with the veterans............

i mean when you have the option to play VETERANS or Torres, Velez, Ishikawa, ect, ect............the choice is simple.......

the only thing i felt Boochy could have done differently is give Posey starts down the stretch over Whiteside (who will never be more than a backup anyway)

We can do better than Bochy.. but first things first.. get rid of Sabean, another person past their "prime" on the giants. Never really had a prime but he did pull a couple good deals.

SI.com's Jon Heyman believes the Mets will "wait it out" with free agent catcher Bengie Molina because they feel they are the highest bidders.
Few teams are in the market for a catcher, especially a 35-year-old seeking a lucrative multi-year deal. Molina hit just .265/.285/.442 this past season, though he did reach the 20 home run plateau for the first time in his career. The Royals and Rangers are also thought to have interest.

WHAT YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THIS

Pitching prospect Madison Bumgarner has been requested by the Marlins in trade discussions for second baseman Dan Uggla.
Giants GM Brian Sabean declined the trade, saying he won't give up any "prime assets" for a slugger nearing free agency. He also mentioned that he's hoping to keep Bumgarner in Triple-A for the year and will try to ink a No. 5 starter to soak up innings. If such a starter can't be found, the 20-year-old could be in line for a rotation spot. In 2009, Bumgarner pitched 10 innings with a 1.80 ERA for the Giants while finishing 12-2 with a 1.85 ERA in the minor leagues.

yeah i have to say Bumgarner for Uggla would be pretty retarded.

According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, up to four teams have shown interest in Pirates catcher Ryan Doumit.
Morosi believes the Blue Jays, Mariners and Giants could be among the interested parties, but that's all speculation. Doumit, 28, hit .250/.299/.414 this season with 10 homers and 38 RBI in 280 at-bats. He is set to earn an affordable $3.55 million in 2010 and $5.1 million in 2011.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Brad Penny's potential one-year deal with the Cardinals could be worth up to $9 million through incentives.
Chances are the base salary will fit in around $5 million. It's a deal that makes sense for both sides. Penny, 31, has dealt with a few injuries in the past few years and will be given a shot on a contending team to re-establish his value. The right-hander finished the 2009 season with an 11-9 record, 4.88 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. He went 4-1 with a 2.59 ERA with the Giants.

According to MLB.com's Bill Ladson, the Nationals are among the teams that have shown interest in free agent catcher Brad Ausmus this winter.
Ausmus has also heard from the Giants, and Dodgers are thought to have interest in re-signing him. The soon-to-be 41-year-old posted a .295/.343/.368 batting line this past season with one home run and nine RBI in 95 at-bats. He'll probably work as a backup wherever he lands.

According to Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star, free agent catcher Miguel Olivo is drawing interest from the Giants, Mariners and Rockies.
Olivo batted .249/.292/.490 with a career-high 23 homers and 65 RBI in 2009. The 31-year-old could find a starting gig in San Francisco but may have to battle for playing time in Seattle and Colorado. He earned $2.7 million this past year and is almost certainly looking for a pay raise.

Giants general manager Brian Sabean revealed Monday that Pablo Sandoval will bat cleanup for the club in 2010.
The 23-year-old infielder hit an impressive .330/.387/.556 in 2009 with 25 homers, 44 doubles, 90 RBI and only 68 strikeouts in 572 at-bats. He's a .416/.485/.652 hitter in 101 career at-bats out of the cleanup spot.

lol @ adding in Sanchez to get the deal done.....

how about to get Hanley Ramirez you guys would have to give up Madison Bumgarner AND Pablo Sandoval
I knew you'd be lurkin and over that.. which is why i said it.

I'd give up much more for someone like Adrian Gonzalez. Atleast we already know he can hit in ATT and isn't too pussy to come here like most other "big bats"
