I like the Giants and really dont understand why Lincecum would take such little money. Now if you switch Zito and his contracts then id agree

lincicem is under team control for another 3 or 4 years???? that means that he has to take what they give him no matter what............he is however arbitration eligible after the 09 season.................personally i thought the giants should have signed him long tern now, at a number like 25M for 4 years so as to avoid the contract negotiation drama in the future............plus if he has another year like the one he had last year he may very well get upwards of 8M on the first try............

Since he's young and all, look after this season for the Giants to do a deal like 5/55 Million or something to that extent.
LOL @ 5/55M.................

younger, lefty, proven winner in the World Series (WS MVP)---Gets 3/20.5M

Phillies signed LHP Cole Hamels to a three-year, $20.5 million contract. Hamels will receive $4.35 million in 2009, $6.65 million in 2010, and $9.5 million in 2011. A "Super-Two" player, Hamels will also be arbitration-eligible a fourth time in 2012 before becoming a free agent......................

Brandon Webb and the Diamondbacks agreed to a $19.5 million, four-year deal on Friday, locking up the sinkerball specialist through his arbitration years.

The Giants have released Dave Roberts, we now have a little more room for someone younger and better.

I can see us pulling a Tampa Bay Rays and contending in this division with our farm system a la evan longorria

season hasnt even started, you cant say shit really until we hit the all star break (the mid point) then you can say what you want about not going anywhere.

giants still have a chance to trade/acquire some more offense. We made a switch from being an offensive team to a pitching/defense team.

the giants dont have a single position player prospect like Longoria, its an understatement to say thats a reach. but the NL west is always all over the place, anything can happen.
