Then Angel Villalona at 3rd base, Madison Bumgarner and Tim Alderson in the pitching rotation/bullpen.
They moved Villalona to 1st base last season, he's not gonna be the answer at 3rd and probably wont be ready for the majors anyway until 2012...I see Bumgarner/Alderson getting call up's in September, and being in big league camp next Spring...

not me, i dont recall saying he sucks.......he just has a very bad body.......fits the AL perfectly (david Ortiz with less power??)..............baseball america just put up their projected 2012 Giants lineup....no sandoval on that list

Andrew Baggarly said he didn't include Sandoval in that projected lineup because of the uncertainty of what position he ends up playing. It best to take those project lineups with a grain of salt.

Giants, RHP Ramon Ortiz agree to minor league deal

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)—Ramon Ortiz agreed to a minor league contract Tuesday with the San Francisco Giants, getting an invitation to spring training after spending last season in Japan.

Ortiz is 84-80 with 210 starts in nine big league seasons, most recently with Minnesota and Colorado in 2007. He spent his first six seasons with the Angels, winning 16 games in 2003.

He went 4-7 for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan last year, but was the MVP of the recent Caribbean Series while pitching for a club from his native Dominican Republic.

The Giants expect Ortiz to compete for a spot in their bullpen when spring training opens this weekend.

top ranked rotation in the N.L. going into spring training, but y'all already knew that.. hopefully Zito comes back to his old cy young, oakland a's form, and sanchez stays consistant.

Zito returning to form? Doubt it. He's lost what little velocity he's had.

maybe not, but if he works on his mechanics he could get that velocity back.. i saw the comparisons of his delivery and i can see why he has inconsistency issues. Also he's only focusing on strength/cardio workouts but not much on mechanics.. check out his delivery when he was on the A's and compare that to now, you'll see he comes more over than top than he used to. He also has an inverted L in his arm action which creates timing problems over time and elbow/shoulder issues too.

maybe not even tops in the NL West....how you gonna say tops in all of the NL?????

AZ Diamoondbacks are possibly better in the rotation
