I cut and pasted this:
My last "worst Sunday" post caught a lot of heat, some desearved, but most of it not desearved. This will be my last post because I know ya'll are getting sick and tired of my crazy rants and posts, even though the majority of what I say is true. Just read what I have to say and if I'm wrong about any of it, I'll shove my foot in my mouth forever.
Why Lane Kiffin can not coach in the NFL:
-The biggest problem I have with Lane Kiffin is his decision to play Josh McCown over Duante Culpepper. Culpepper kept you close in all games vs good teams (KC, at Tenn, at SD) , McCown gets you out of the game against awful teams (Houston, Chicago). McCown could be the worst quaterback in the history of the NFL, seriously, not even trying to raise eyebrows, the only one who is worse is Ryan Leaf. If Kiffin is a good coach, why does he insist of playing McCown, because he has shown us ANYTHING positive in his 4 losses? Maybe it was not an off the wall suggestion that he may be trying to "tank" the rest of the season. All I know is Culpepper at home would have won the games vs. Houston and Chicago to keep us in the division hunt. But no, we play McCown, that is an automatic loss. Culpepper should have started from week 1, McCown started because he knew the playbook. WHAT PLAYBOOK? that meager offensive scheme we call a game plan? that sorry excuse for an "explosive offense" (which he said in his first press conference), our offense looks like it takes about 3 weeks to learn. Culpepper fumbles but hey, we were in all the games he played in down to the wire. McCown just flat out is awful and the offense is a reflection of him at QB when he's in the game.
-Dominic Rhodes came off a superbowl win in which he played well in. He comes to the leagues worst team in 2006 and does not even play. How are we supposed to attract free agents after they see what happened to him? Lane Kiffin has made Oakland an un-attractive destination for free agents by shoving Rhodes to the bench.
-I caught heat for saying that we ruined Russell's career by drafting him. Am I wrong? You want to play Jamarcus Russell now with a so-so undersized starting RB in Fargas, a 5 8 old slow WR in Tim Dwight, a rookie WR in Higgins, a slumping out of his prime Jerry Porter, a solid number 3 receiver on any other NFL team in Curry, a rookie TE in miller, a dysfunctional offensive line, and a 32 year old head coach that is way over his head in Kiffin. Now please tell me how in the world is Russell even given a chance to be successful? Football is not magic, and the rest of you (like me for a long time) are living in a fantasy world. This is a bad team, with no offensive weapons, do you really think Russell is going to be what you all WANT or THINK he is going to be with that cast? Absolutely not, he will be sub par at best and might get injured with this team.
Worst Part Is:
- Are you saying we could not win against Damon Huard, Rex Grossman, and Sage Rosenfels at home? Seriously, those 3 QB's in Oakland all won games, enough said.
-How many players on this team really wanna be here? Not for the money, or for a job, how many really wanna play for the Raiders. Deep down the only player who wants to play for the Raiders is Kirk Morrison. Hence why he is the only one who plays hard and at a high level every week. So the least all of us could do is vote to death until he gets to the pro bowl. The Raiders don't wanna win, teams that wanna win find ways to win games, not find ways to lose them.
Future:
-We actually have about 15-20 solid players. If we hired a real NFL proven coach (Mike Martz, Dennis Green, anyone) we could get free agents and a solid draft (not a draft where we cut our 3rd round pick, Quinton Moses). The AFC West is slumping and will be next year too. Norv Turner will be fired, Brodie Croyle will start, and Denver will be a little above average at best. The division was up for grabs this year, but we didnt even come close, maybe next year we will have another shot.
-Anyone who thinks a 32 year old with no coaching experience in the NFL will take the Raiders to the promise land next year or the year after that is out of their mind. I dont care who his dad is, he is not him, and his dad won a fluke superbowl as a Defensive Coordinator, its not like hes the son of Bill Walsh or Bill Parcells. And dont even mention the "next Jon Gruden", because Gruden was in the NFL for a number of years before he coached oakland (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Gruden). Lane Kiffin is just another bad hire by Al Davis, and if he isnt fired this year, he will eventually within the next 12-24 monthes, so dont expect Lane Kiffin to be here long term. Lane Kiffin basiclly has to get this team to the playoffs next year or his job is in jeapordy, and playoffs next year, dont hold your breathe.
ART SHELL 2006- 2-7
LANE KIFFIN 2007- 2-7
ART SHELL- the game of football had past his time
LANE KIFFIN- the game of football was not his time yet
ART SHELL- had 2 starting QB's that both we're bad
LANE KIFFIN- has 1 starting QB that is awful and decides to continue to play him
+1 for Shell
ADVANTAGE: ART SHELL
Last Thought:
-Some of you might question my allegiance to the raider nation. I'm probably the most bitter person here, and have to air out my frustration "realistically". Not from a bias point of view like most people post with all that positive s h i t. Its not about being positive, hopeful, a true raider, and all that, its about being realistic. You all watch the games on Sunday, call a spade a spade, it is what it is, it's sad, but the Raiders are what they are. This will be my last post, say whatever you want because I'm wont even be checking it to see peoples responses, the Raiders are so disheartening this year, for the first time I actually don't care. Thanks Josh McCown and Lane Kiffin, you have once again for the 5th straight year faded the team from relevancy, managed to have no point in playing the last half of the season, and actually made me not care about football all together.
"Lane Kiffin leads Raiders to Superbowl"
-do you really think thats gonna happen? Lane Kiffin leading the Oakland Raiders to a superbowl, once again unrealistic, that statement read aloud doesnt sound right, dont believe me, try saying it out loud youself, ha. Someone get Bill Cowher on the phone, tell him we need a tough, hardcore, in your face NFL head coach to ignite these players and bring back REAL RAIDER FOOTBALL.
