Wow.... Just wow....

People will do their usual and sugar coat this fight as a tough fight to score.
I can already hear them, "some of those rounds were very close".
But really? Close enough to hand Manny a decision?
I'd give him an extremely generous draw at best.
But this fight was no where near as close as their first encounter, yet Marquez was able to go home with a draw in that one. Yet here a fight where he clearly won (by 5 or 4 points on my card), he ends up losing by decision.
It just doesn't make sense, and it's really unfair (especially after his brother's fight).

I'm not surprised Manny got the decision, nothing about the sport of boxing is a surprise to me any more. It's a joke.... It's officials are a joke....
I sat there before the decision and I told my brother, "who cares if the so-called judges award the decision to Pacquiao. What the judges say now days is insignificant. We know Marquez CLEARLY won this time around"....

So personally, "dishonest" Pacquiao supporters will never give Marquez his due and admit he won. But that's ok because man will always be flawed with selfishness.
As once a very big fan of the sport who has all but a grain of hope left for a dying sport, I "know" that Marquez beat Pacquiao once again.
And that's all that matters to me....

I had a $50 bet with a homie. I went with pacman. We scored it all the way throughbwith marquez up by 4. When the decision came out, I shook my boys hand and told him I don't even want your money.

I know who won that fight.

Awesome fight!!

I had it 6 rounds to Pacman, 6 rounds to Marquez, but the knockdown was the difference in the fight. Pacman wins by one point.

And miggidy, ur waaaaaaay off on your scoring, 4 or 5 rounds marquez a head? seriously? no way man, no way. i can see maaaybe one round a head for marquez, but thats it. You must be scoring on clean punches being landed only, but there is more criteria to score a fight like ring generalship and effective aggression. Plus, Marquez was doing chicken dances/Zab Judah impressions on several occasions, Pac was stunned a couple times (especially in the 2nd) but not like that!!

to add to that, Marquez had the counter punches, landed them frequently and hard, but pacman was for the most part the aggressor and landed more punches per round (at least in the rounds he won), and scored the only knock down. simple as that!

And it was a close ass fight, no doubt about it. To say it was a robbery or a joke decision is retarded, definitely one of the closest fights I've seen. A robbery is Whitaker Vs. Chavez, dlh-trinidad, or Roy Jones Jr in the Olympics. Pacman/Marquez was about as close as it gets.

And if it was a clear robbery, people wouldn't be split on who won. Ask any 20 people and it will be split. Poll results from boxing site:

And that's exactly how I had it: 114 to 113.

And for the record Joan Guzman would make both these cats look silly.

I actually had Marquez by 2 rounds.

When it went to a decision, my boys were excited, thinking Marquez might pull it off. I was kind of somber; I told them Pacquiao would get the W. It was obvious...and LOL...fuck Lederman. I understand some of his scoring, but there were about 2 rounds that he gave to Manny that I thought were ridiculous.

Oh well...Great fight. My boy was there and got photos with Marquez and his trainer, Mosley, Chavez Jr., and Jorge Arce. Lucky son of a bitch.

Good job, Marquez.

What do you guys think, will there be a part III? During the post-fight press conference, Golden Boy Promotions offered Bob Arum/Top Rank/Manny Pacquiao a $6 million purse for a third fight. But Bob Arum turned it down and said Pacquiao will be moving up to 135 to face David Diaz. The earnings for last nights fight was Pacquiao/$5 Million and Marquez/$1.5 Million

Ok, I'll go on record with my round-by-round and anyone that disagrees can challenge my way of thinking and make a solid argument as to how I'm wrong:

Round 1: Pacman
10-9
Feel out round, slow start, Pacquiao more aggressive and lands more shots, Marquez landed a few nice crisp counters, Pacquiao however also showed good defense and blocked and dodged many punches. Pacman gets the round.

Round 2: Marquez 9-10
Marquez simply outworked Pacquiao, landed more shots, good counters and finished off the round with a huge shot that rocked Pacquiao whose legs clearly buckled.

Round 3: Pacman:
10-8
Pacquiao scores huge knockdown. 10-8 round.

Round 4: Pacman 10-9
Pretty close round but Pacquiao was the aggressor, landed the bigger shots and controlled the tempo. Marquez landed some real nice counters punches, but counter punching alone will not win a round. Pacman gets the round.

Round 5: Marquez 9-10
Much like round 2, Marquez simply outworks Pacquiao; lands more shots, harder and cleaner punches.

Round 6: Marquez
9-10
Marquez simply out-boxes Pacquiao. Pacauiao doesn't land any significant punches, Marquez lands several. Easy round for Marquez.

Round 7: Marquez
9-10
Really tough round to score, could have gone either way. The first half of the round neither fighter did anything, the second half both fighters were throwing serious bombs and exchanging big shots, Marquez I thought got the better of the exchanges and was able to win the round.

Round 8: Marquez 9-10
Easiest round for Marquez. Pacquiao gets a nasty cut on his eyelid caused by a Marquez punch, which clearly bothers Pacquiao and we can see him squinting and trying to wipe the blood out of his eye on several occasions. Marquez takes full advantage of this and lands shots pretty much at will.

Round 9: Pacman 10-9
The corner does a great job stopping the blood of Pacquiao's eye. Pacman was more aggressive and landed the bigger shots. Marquez has a late furry in the closing seconds, but not enough to steal the round.

Round 10: Pacman 10-9
Easiest round for Pacquiao. Marquez develops a new cut on his eye which clearly bothers him. Marquez nearly goes down early in the round from a huge left hand from Pacauaio which sends Marquez stumbling in the ropes. Marquez recovers, but Pacauaio controls the tempo of the round and lands bigger shots. Pacman gets the round.

Round 11: Pacman 10-9
Pretty close round, both land some big shots, pacman finishes off very strong which is enough to steal the round.

Round 12: Marquez 9-10
Similar to round 11 with both men willing to exchange and go toe to toe, Marquez however gets the better of Pacquiao on most of the exchanges and shows better defense by making Pacauiao miss.

Final score: 114-113
6 rounds to Pacquiao
6 rounds to Marquez
The difference being the knockdown.

Marquez got ROBBED and that's it. I can't believe he didn't at least get the draw, being the champion and all. Bull shit, the only reason they gave Pac the decision is to not fuck up future fights to make more money using Pac's popularity. This should be obvious to anyone who is sane...
