About the fight...Marquez seems to have lost a step since they first met...not as quick...and to me it seems as he's tried to make up for that with aggression. I think this will be his downfall, in this fight...he's letting his hands go a lot more frequently, which is great...but it also leaves him open a lot.

I agree 110%...Marquez is one of my favorite fighters, but he's lost a step while Pacquiao has gained one...or two. His aggression isn't a liability, in most cases, because he can take a good punch, but Manny packs a super punch, and he could get caught.

I think he'd need to box the fight of his life to beat Manny...

I can't wait for this fight.

PS. I think Marquez is married (not that that means anything...) and fuck you, 20Sixx...ya bitch.

LOL

Where'd you get the links for the Marquez-Vasquez 3 fight?

When I renamed the first file with .avi as the extension, VLC recognized it no problem. When I changed the second file it didn't recognize it as a movie file.

If I can find the original post where those links came from, maybe there are some other instructions. Maybe that second file was a rar file or something.

Marquez (130), Pacquiao (129) Make Weight

Marquez, Pacquiao Both Make Weight

Ernest Gabion at the scales

The main players in Saturday night’s highly anticipated rematch between Juan Manuel Marquez (48-3-1, 35KO) and Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao (45-3-2, 35KO) both made weight on their first try. Marquez checked in at the super featherweight limit of 130 lb, while Pacquiao’s weight was announced at 129, one pound lighter.

The bout will be 12 rounds, with the winner to gain universal recognition as the linear super featherweight champion. Marquez is in possession of alphabet hardware that will also be at stake.

The main event is a rematch to their scintillating May 2004 war, which resulted in a split decision draw. Pacquiao scored three knockdowns in the opening round, but Marquez rallied back, winning enough rounds from 2-12 to pull ahead on one card and even on another.

The chief support is a 12-round featherweight battle between alphabet titlist Steve Luevano (34-1, 15KO) and mandatory challenger, Terdsak Jandaeng (29-2, 19KO) of Thailand. Both fighters weighed in at the featherweight limit of 126 lb.

Highly touted Mexican bantamweight prospect Abner Mares (15-0, 9KO) appears in preliminary action, as he defends a regional title against Filipino challenger Diosdado Gabi (30-3-1, 22KO). Mares weighed in at 117 lb, one pound under the bantamweight limit, while Gabi was 1 ½ lb. over, at 119 ½. He has one hour to lose the extra weight in order to qualify for the scheduled 12-round bout.

The opening bout of the PPV telecast (9PM ET/6PM PT) is a 10-round lightweight bout between current titlist David Diaz (33-1-1, 17KO) and Ramon Montano (15-3-2, 1KO). Diaz and Montano both weighed in at 136 lb.

The show is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, Inc., in association with Romanza Boxing, MP Promotions and Tecate Beer.

Wow....
More than 50% pick the PacMan by KO.
That's interesting considering the fact that he had Marquez down 3 times in the first round of their first fight, yet he couldn't finish him.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I just don't understand the logic there.
Haha, I even remeber cats in here having the audacity to say that the fight should have been stopped after the 3rd knockdown.
Well I just stopped by to say that I'm picking Marquez by unanimous decision.
Pacquiao is still a one dimensional fighter.
Sure he's worked on his right hook since then, but that's not what he needed to work on for this rematch. He still has to answer Marquez's jab.
If Pacquiao isn't packing a better jab this time around, Marquez will be able to control him again. So.... Marquez's jab will be key, and his straight right will be the next component. Still, he's got to avoid Pacquiao's straight left. He can't get arrogant in there, he's gotta move his head to avoid Pacquiao's best shot at connecting any significant punches.

Well I'm off to catch the fights!

Word...

The thing that will hurt Marquez is if he tries to go toe-to-toe with him too early. He needs that jab, and needs to box to win this fight. If he can control the tempo and keep Pacquiao moving backwards, he'll have a better shot. I just think he'll need to fight a great fight to beat him.

Marquez by split decision.
