actually this day and age, if your virtually an unknown artist, label, or group, and you can sell 2000 cd's indipendantly, that is quite a success in this day and age..... people are not buying cd's like they used to, and it is very hard to hustle cd's on your own, unless you have no job or life, and even then its hard we got kids to feed and day jobs, cuzz rent is high..... and the reason i say its a success, is cuzz there alot of cats that press 1000 units, and still sittin on 500 units 12 months later..... and if you can sell 2000 units all by yourself, your possabilities of getting a distribution deal are greater on the next project, and its possible, if you do it right, you may move 4-5000 units next time, as long as every project you do, sells better then the last, you doin your job..... and depending on how much you spend to drop an album, you can make a good amount of money sellin 3-5000 units every album.... and live pretty nice....
obviously it would be nice to slang 10,000 units out the trunk, but someone please tell me who the last person was that did that, and how many decades ago that was??? i think mc hammer sold something like that in 1985 or somethin....
so of you tend to think its just so easy to put an album out and sell it.... even if you tite, your shit will sit on the shelf or in your moms garage collectin dust if you dont do everything perfect, and even then you aint guarenteed shit in this game!!!
i congradulate savage c, and mista cane on what they have done in the short amount of time they been around.... each project they have done, has gotten better in all aspects, from lyrics, to artwork, to promotion..... they dont ever rush some half fast shit out on the market to make some side cash, they enjoy makin muzic, and enjoy the hustle, they got heart, and if more artist new and old would have more heart, this game would improve..... but mafuccaz too worried bout what the next man doin, and how much money they "think" they can make..... "abusers of the game"
just speakin the real truth.....
