So bigface, if Bob Arum were to reserve a date at Cowboys Stadium and said "We want the biggest fight possible." do you honestly believe that Floyd and his team would accept and let Bob dictate something as significant as the venue/date without even speaking to them?

I want to hear your honest answer. Nut-hugging aside, please.

I'm not bigface, but I'll answer that by saying "no". I think Floyd would want to negotiate but I don't think he would rule the fight out by saying they're making it impossible just because a date has been set and a venue has been placed on hold.

Floyd did what he did more for the fans and the critics so they could see he's ready to fight Pacquiao and is not the one stalling. He or team Floyd didn't release that info for negotiation purposes...

I hear you. My point is that it's more of an ego thing between Bob Arum & Floyd Mayweather/Al Haymon at this point. Neither is going to give the other the pleasure of gaining any type of upper hand.

I truly believe they hate each other that much.

Smith and Bayless's debate on Floyds May 5th MGM set date rant

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfgclTrkSk0
I hate when Bayless talks about boxing. To quote mayweather, "he doesn't know shit about boxing!"

Smith knows a little more, but not much. There's only two guys qualified to talk about boxing on ESPN - Fat Dan & Brian Kenny. That's it.

Yeah, neither guy knows shit about boxing. But glad to see boxing get a little bit of attention (albeit for the wrong reasons) during prime time.

It's how you call a mf out to fight.
No it isn't Tony. It's called putting the cart before the horse. Better yet, it's called giving yourself an excuse just in case it doesn't happen. And we've already discussed calling a person out. Floyd's track record of calling out Pac doesn't go in his favor. And I've laid it out, bro. Fire Arum, go to the table and negotiate, sign on the line, take the test and fight. If the first part (firing Arum doesn't take place) I doubt we'll see this fight.

^ Edit: Hit it right on the head.

Tony, I can't remember an instance of a fighter calling another out, by booking a venue, and setting a date.

If Floyd really wanted to show his intentions on fighting Pacquiao, he'd be there this Saturday at his fight, ringside.

Why would he be there ringside? You don't negotiate a fight sitting ringside, is what Arum will probably say.

I think Floyd has already shown his intentions on fighting Pacquiao

His team released a statement "We want the biggest fight out there" and also mentioned a "little fella"
Oscar De La Hoya tweeted "Floyd wants Pacquiao"
Unlce Roger says Floyd is focused on "Pacquiao"
Floyd himself goes on 106 and Park and said he wants "Pacquiao"

Maybe the date is set in stone but not the venue.... things could change.

Floyd Mayweather is ready for Manny Pacquiao.

I don't want to hear Manny say "he don't want the fight and I don't know why".... It's time to end this blame shifting.

He's calling Pacquiao out, time for Pacquiao (himself) to answer and quit hiding behind his promoter.

And of all of the meaningless things you just said, nothing would say that he wants the fight more than showing up to the fight Saturday, and what I would love, is getting into the ring post fight (given Pacquiao wins) and doing a quick interview with Max Kellerman face to face with Manny.

Tony, NONE of that means anything when you call a guy out by name and then say you never said it. Stop all the "show business", stop all the contradictions and handle BOXING BUSINESS.

yeah like that. You don't think it would be tight if floyd sat ringside and confronted pac after the fight? that would be lightweight epic lol. I'm not saying he has to do that or should do it, but from an entertainment perspective, shit would be dope

He probably doesn't watch it because he's hiding under the covers that's why.
Just kidding. This is getting stupid. They both accomplished one thing at least. Made it more anticipated than it originally was.

I think it would be dope but you know Floyd "claims" he doesn't watch Pacquiao fights.
why would he claim that? He used to be a fan of pacquiao and went to numerous pacquiao fights. You could see floyd jumping up and down in excitement against Morales in the second fight. He was going crazy ringside. He was a big pacquiao fan before you know, he became a possible opponent.
