Use your common sense.... did anyone from Team Mayweather mention Morales? Did Floyd himself mention Morales? Floyd went on 106 and Park and called Pacquiao out by name. Team Floyd issued a statement calling the "little fella" out.... Uncle Rog has said that Floyd's focus is on Pacquiao.

All of this has been done before Pacquiao finds another opponent to fight after Marquez.

Floyd is available, period.
Tony, Floyd called Pac out by name twice then turned around and said he never said it. Can we really put much stock in Floyd calling people out?

Arum: Pacquiao-Martinez Possible, Same Day Weigh-In

By Rick Reeno

A dream fight between Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38KOs) and Sergio Martinez (48-2-2, 27KOs) is possible - if Martinez agrees to a same-day weigh-in, according to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes the Filipino superstar. Martinez, the WBC's Diamond champion at middleweight, is willing to drop down to a catch-weight of 150-pounds to face Pacquiao, the WBO's champion at 147-pounds.

Arum's concern with Martinez making 150, with 24 hours to rehydrate, is the possibility of the Argentine boxer coming to the ring at 175-pounds on the night of the fight. To prevent that, Arum would like to have both boxers make weight on a Saturday afternoon, a few hours before the fight.

"Here is the problem with Martinez. Let me tell you the problem with Martinez. Martinez says 'I'll fight him at 150,' but that's bullsh**. That means he'll dehydrate until the afternoon of the weigh-in and come to the ring at 175, which he's done before. What I say is, if you really want to fight Manny Pacquiao - I have a simple way to do it. You said 150, you will fight at 150, then let's go to a commission, and not necessarily this [Las Vegas] commission....maybe New York, maybe Texas, wherever. And say 'both fighters want to do the fight and they want to go back to the old days and we'll weigh in on the day of the fight, at 150. If he wants to do that, we can start talking," Arum said.

After last year's fight with Antonio Margarito, at 150, Arum says Pacquiao and his team made a decision to avoid taking fights above the welterweight limit. Pacquiao, who tried to bulk up for Margarito, started dropping weight a few days before the fight because the added bulk was making him sluggish in the gym. Pacquiao weighed in at 144-pounds. During the fight, Margarito's size became a factor when he trapped Pacquiao against the ropes and hurt him badly to the body.

"He was hurting for a month after that fight. We realized that he can't continue to fight all of these bigger guys," Arum said.

So Arum and Top Rank are making up there own rules what about the commission. But a tablespoon of blood is so wrong for Mayweather to ask for?? LoL, can you say double standards.

The career of Manny Pacquiao is coming to a close in the near future, according to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum. The Filipino boxer, who doubles as a congressman of the Sarangani province in the Philippines, will take his political career a step further in 2013 when he runs for governor. Pacquiao is already an early favorite to win that election. Between then and now, Pacquiao will likely take part in three to four more fights. One of those fights is scheduled for Saturday night, when he defends the WBO welterweight title against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"Let me give you the political situation. He's now a congressman from Sarangani. His term is up in 2013, when he will for governor of Sarangani province and he will probably win. That's the end of boxing because as a congressman, like our congressmen, you don't work very hard. As a governor it's very different. You have to run a whole province and you're resonsible for the water, the electricity, everything. That's what he's going to concentrate on. He's going to run in 2016 for the senate, which is a six year term. And in 2022, when he's over 40-years of age, that's the first time that he'll be eligible to run for president. He won't have time to spare, coming over to the Wild Card, doing press conferences," Arum said.

As far as the opponnents for 2012. The obvious target, and the biggest fight in boxing, would come against Floyd Mayweather Jr. If Mayweather is not available, for whatever reason, there are other options in mind.

"Assuming Mayweather is not available. You have [Timothy] Bradley. You have Mike Jones as a possibility as a welterweight. You have [Andre] Berto, if he does something good. The guy who's the real sleeper, that could be a huge fight, if he continues [to win] because he's such a crowd pleaser - is the lightweight Brandon Rios. And there may be others.....[Yuriorkis] Gamboa," Arum said.

Another lucrative option, which Arum believes would be a big fight, would come against junior welterweight Amir Khan, who plans to become a full fledged welterweight in 2012. There are obvious hurdles in making that fight. Both Pacquiao and Khan are trained by Freddie Roach. The veteran trainer has a close relationship with both men. Khan and Pacquiao are also friends who often train side by side for their upcoming fights, but Arum doesn't feel the friendship is close enough to prevent a future meeting.

"That's another name that could be added, because obviously with Khan's body of work - it would be a very attractive fight. I really have to say, being around both of them, that while they seem to like each other - there is no real great friendship there. I'm not saying there is any animosity, but it's not like they hang out together or anything like that. So I think that fight could be a possibility, sure," Arum said.

Is old Bob looking for a way out of the Mayweather fight? So Manny is going to fight a Lightweight or Featherweight next?

None of those opponents Arum mentioned really sound all that appealing to me. Rios or Gamboa maybe, but those guys have not proven that they can move up in weight and be effective.

Not sure about the whole same day weigh in for the Martinez fight either. That's a lot of weight for him to lose, and the guy is probably already in single digit body fat % fighting at 154/160. He'd be drained.

Why are people not whinning about Bob Arum trying to make up his own rules. What about the commission rules?? I guess it's only a issue when Mayweather wants someone to be tested randomly. The funny thing is that Mayweather gets tested randomly too so what's the big deal? Mayweather won't make you die at the scales to fight him because he see's you as a threat like Manny. Piss in a cup and a tablespoon of blood and the fight is on what's so evil about that? Both fighters will be randomly tested the same way.

Arum on Mayweather-Pacquiao, Testing, Money, More

BoxingScene.com or provide a link to the original article.

By Rick Reeno

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum discussed the possibility of making a 2012 super-fight between welterweight champions Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao returns this Saturday night, and defends the WBO title against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather, through his adviser Leonard Ellerbe, recently announced his desire to fight Pacquiao in May.

According to Arum, the biggest issue in the fight, which is Mayweather's demand for both boxers to undergo a pre-fight random drug testing protocol - is "not an issue" and hasn't been an issue for a long time.

Arum gives his opinion on Mayweather's announcement, what needs to happen to make that fight a reality, and more.

Is Mayweather making the possibility of a fight difficult?

It's not a question of him making it so difficult. He's making it impossible because he's not making it. I said to myself 'maybe he has some point, although I think it's baloney, on this doping drug testing.' So Manny and I discussed it. I told Manny, 'they are not going to go in your dressing room on the night of the fight, and even if they do let them take [the blood] from your ass and not from your arm. We talked and he said 'okay, no conditions, none.' And then [Mayweather] is on [television] this [past] weekend saying 'I'll fight him, take the test.' What is he saying and why doesn't the press pick him up on it? How many times do we have to say that is not an issue. It isn't an issue.

Thoughts on Mayweather's team announcing a return date of May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with Pacquiao as the preferred opponent.

I laughed, because there's a whole track record. every time pacquaoio fights, Mayweather does something to try and take the limelight away. But for me it's great because we know now how to handle it and we turned it into a plus for the Pacquiao-Marquez fight.

What needs to happen to get Pacquiao-Mayweather fight done?

To get a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight to happen, you need to have real negotiations - not in the press, but in private. And you don't have real negotiations when you send out a press release with a date and a site - because that signals to me that they are not serious. Nobody in their right mind would come out and say that it takes place at the MGM Grand, and maybe it ends up there, but what about Steve Wynn putting it in the Sam Boyd Stadium or Jerry Jones putting it in Cowboys Stadium. Dont you at least want to hear what those people have to say?

Who much money are Pacquiao and Marquez guaranteed for the trilogy? How much will Manny make total?

Manny will make well over $30 million. Manny is guaranteed $22 million and Marquez $5 [million].

Reaction to Mayweather's boasts of being guaranteed $40-50 million a fight.

I tell people, that's like me guaranteeing Top Rank $10 million dollars. I guarantee myself. He's guaranteeing himself. It's a joke. [Golden Boy CEO Richard] Schaefer is not guaranteeing [that money] for the little fee that he got [to co-promote]. Who is guaranteeing [Mayweather] the money? Himself. Okay, that's good.

Reaction to Golden Boy's announced buyrate figure of 1.25 million for the Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz pay-per-view, which took place in September.

I don't believe a word that they say. Now if HBO had come out, like they always do, and said that that fight did an x-amount number of buys, with a little exaggeration you can take it to the bank. But they wouldn't come out and give a number.

Old Bob are you already making excuses to duck out of the Mayweather fight. I thought you offered Floyd $50 million last year and he walked away from the fight. Now you whinning about guaranteed money. LOL. the start of the second week and more excuses on why Manny can't fight Mayweather. But Mayweather is the one ducking Manny? This is too funny. Mayweather played chess the Top Rank now he's going to expose them as the duckers they are.

Bob was referring to how floyd said he makes $40-$50 million (he even said $70 million) against anyone he fights. Bob is saying that's BS, which it is.

Anyways, what arum is saying is right though - negotiations have to happen after the fight. I didn't see any excuses there. The one thing he talked about - the venue - I agree with too...why immediately say the MGM when there would be a huge bidding war for the fight? There would be some CRAZY offers around the country (and the world) to have the fight, bob is right wouldn't you at least want to hear what those offers are??

The MGM has been placed on hold just incase the fight is there... it's not set in stone.

Bob said Floyd is making the fight "impossible" to make.... hahahahahaha.....

They're running scared.... now that they've agreed to the drug test, Floyd is ready.
