The other day I was trying to find something on run support average that certain pitchers have, do you have a source for this? If so can you post support averages for...

Jason Schmidt
Mark Prior
Kevin Brown
Kerry Wood
i cant say for sure without looking it up but check out this page
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/index

then click on Statistics on the Left. you should be able to find whatever you need there.

That which you provided is my source for most of my statistical findings. I did find it though, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. The results were just as I would have guessed.

Russ Ortiz 6.72 (3rd)

Mark Prior 4.88 (24th)
Jason Schmidt 4.58 (33rd)
Kerry Wood 4.50 (34th)

Should this, something the pitcher has no control over, determine the Cy Young? I think not.

Kevin Brown: Dude is not even on the radar. They list the top 40, he's not on there. Probably somewhere around 3.XX.

Exactly thats why I think K. Brown should win the award, but because of reasons like this he wont get it!! He is the best pitcher in baseball this year, but he doesnt have the run support!! GOT EM!!!

Brown and Schmidt are equal in my eyes so far this year.

John Smoltz just went on the DL. He's supposed to be back in 7 days, but there went the 58 saves.

There are several ways you can take the bet. Make sure to always check your options. In this case the Giants had to win by 2 runs for me to win more money than I was putting down on the game.

I don't see how thats possible when Prior is beating Schmidt in only ONE catagory, strikeouts. Schmidt is either tying or beating him in every other major statistical catagory.

In other news, Gagne just set the MLB record for 55 straight saves.

Your in a Jason Schmidt thread Genius, of course im going to talk about him. Those are NOT the only 3 catagories looked at for Cy Young, ever heard of Losses? Walks, Runs, Earned Runs. You played baseball, but I must ask the question, do you know anything about it?

1ST OFF I THIK GAGNE IS TAKING IT ALL THE WAY.

BUT IT WILL BE TOUGH FOR SECOND. WITH PRIOR IN MY VIEW MORE DOMINANT THAN SCHMIDT.

TO ME AMONG STARTING PITCHERS THE 3 MAJOR CATAGORIES ARE

1. ERA
2. WINS AND
3. STRIKEOUT AND STRIKEOUT/WALK RATIO

AND IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN CATAGORY

#1 IS LED BY JASON SCHMIDT
#2 IS I TIED BETWEEN SCHMIDT AND PRIOR AND
#3 IS LED BY MARK PRIOR

ALTHOUGH I COULD BE WRON HERE I DO THINK THOSE NUMBERS ARE PRETTY ACCURATE

I WILL GIVE A FULL RUN DOWN ON ALL THREE (GAGNE, SCHMIDT, AND PRIOR) OF THOSE GUYS STATS LATER

McLean, thanks for letting Nitro da doo doo know that pitching when the temperature is over 68 degrees, and playing on artificial turf is not what voters are gonna look into.Losses won't be an issue because if you win enough, your bound to have very few losses.Walks...lol,your gonna get wins if you have a control problem? Not an issue never has been.ERA is looked at,not runs. You could have a poor defense behind you,so an ERA is way more accurate to how a pitcher is performing. As for my baseball knowledge,I'll ask the head coach of a local C.C. here who has asked me to come out and help why he thinks I'm the man to do that.Please.refer to me as coach!!!

::::::::::::::::::GAME OVER::::::::::::::::

Oh yah.....Gagne is the favorite as of now.
