McLean, thanks for letting Nitro da doo doo know that pitching when the temperature is over 68 degrees, and playing on artificial turf is not what voters are gonna look into ... Walks...lol,your gonna get wins if you have a control problem? Not an issue never has been.
Actually, I think I said, losses, walks, runs, and earned runs. Mcleanhatch just listed the catagories that he thinks are the most important, read carefully through his wording. It's funny how you later say walks have never been an issue in determining the Cy Young winner, yet you completely agree with Mcleanhatch when he says Strikeouts/Walk ratio is a factor. BAMMER, how are walks not a factor in this case? Thats what you get when your quick to jump on the balls of someone disagreeing with me, you make yourself look stupid.

Coach? Please...

You went from Smoltz having it "LOCKED" to Gagne being the favorite... im sorry.

heres a little more on the NL Cy Young

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=schwarz_alan&id=1607461

National League Cy Young
Without one dominant starter through most of the summer -- even 18-game winner Russ Ortiz has a 3.71 ERA -- many have speculated that the NL Cy Young race will come down to two relievers, the Dodgers' Eric Gagne and the Braves' John Smoltz. Their ridiculous stat lines entering September:

Pitcher S BS IP H BB SO ERA
Gagne 46 0 69.1 32 17 120 1.43
Smoltz 44 3 61 45 8 67 0.89

Smoltz probably won't return from the disabled list (right elbow tendinitis) for another two weeks; if Gagne finishes the season with no blown saves, and perhaps nails down some big games as the Dodgers win the wild card, Gagne will probably nudge ahead.

Then again, don't discount Giants right-hander Jason Schmidt, who beat the Diamondbacks 3-1 on Sunday night and has won six of his last eight starts. Schmidt (14-5) is leading the NL with a 2.21 ERA and has allowed batters just a .552 OPS, by far the best in the league. If Schmidt finishes with 18 wins while Gagne and Smoltz falter, he might finish with the best season numbers

I didn't read anything about Prior in that article. Perhaps there wasn't enough room on the page.

Keep in mind, and remember one thing. I was saying all of this shit BEFORE the season even started, and look where he stands now. How many people do you think picked him like I did. Some of you people think the things I say are "stupid", but when you look at the ending result, how many times have I really been wrong?

Another GEM by Schmidt. While Prior suffered a tough loss in his last outing, Schmidt continues to roll.

7.2IP 1ER 12SO 1BB [W] 15 - 5

Nice to see him back racking up them strikeouts, 12/1 ratio ain't no joke. I think at this point, it's safe to say the race is between Gagne and Schmidt, respects go out to Prior of course. Schmidt should get about 3 more starts, he needs to make the best of it if he wants to take this away from Gagne. Not ruling out Prior, but at this point, I don't see him winning anything.

LOL @ Czar'a NL picks. Mine have changed too.

1. Schmidt
2. Gagne
3. Prior
4. Brown

Give credit where it is due, Prior doesn't have a shot as of right now, I promise man.

7IP 3ER 11SO 0BB

Come on now, game after game after game. Gagne has a shot, but Schmidt is taking it away from him. If Gagne never blows a save, he might be the favorite, but still not a lock. Prior can duke it out for third against Brown.

Thats cool, but there is nothing there to hold Prior over Schmidt. I think your bias is starting to surface again. It's one thing for you to think those are the best players, but as far as this season, every article and every analyst agree's, Prior is not ahead of Schmidt, but let your bias be your guide!
