I respect that fully. It's your right to believe what you want and I support that 100%. But on the part if you think someone who believes in some sort of god gets persecuted by others in society (most people in the world hold some sort of religious conviction) more than people who will tell you they are either athiest or agnostic then I don't know what to tell you. I've had people of all kinds of religious backgrounds quit talking to me for just that reason. But I was still the same person they were friends with before. Call it how you want.

That's about as intelligent as saying "MUSLIMS DO NOT BELIEVE IN WOMENS RIGHTS BECAUSE THE KORAN SAYS TO BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF THEM"

All religions evolve, and people who stick the 1800 shit are seen as radicals.

religion plagues the earth with its ignorant followers

i really would like to stomp your head in ....id pay to do it

lmao

The sun 'burns' without oxygen because of nuclear fusion in it's core.
Protons smash into each other and stick together, releasing energy in the process.
The energy released heats up other materials nearby, other protons and electrons and etc.
This heat eventually escapes from the core to the outside of the sun and is released into what we perceive as sunshine, light and warmth etc.

Actually the sun isn't burning at all. It's fusing hydrogen into helium, so there is no oxygen required.

But some might still see it as 'magic'.

Hey, idiot! I'm sure they never taught you about nuclear fusion in Sunday school, but you should Google it.

In fact, every single stupid picture you posted made me want to pray for your fuckin' death. "76% of Atheists are Communists"?!!? Really? That's how you neanderthals are fighting the war on science?

I can keep commenting on your fun fictional facts, but EACH ONE IS FALSE, and I don't feel like typing out a response to each one. Leave the made-up statistics to CHRISHOGGALYPSE- he's a bit more convincing than you.

Edit: Dammit, iaoish, you beat me to it.

I'm quite sure he was just trolling and being sarcastic with that post.
I had a good laugh about it though.

Sorry, rushing if some things are left out, don't have many breaks. I'm not an advocate of religion but I really don't care what people believe/follow in, I do, however, care about what they do with those beliefs.

I think it's better to just argue that you don't believe in religion than throw science into it everytime.

Science is neutral, while religion has value judgements attached to it, ok, but then when we start to say religion is bad because it makes poeple do bad things on false premises, then science is implicated in a lot of nasty things as well. Here's a series of thoughts I think are interesting to think about when you compare the virtues of science to the ills of religion : 1st, Science is right and has given justification to bad things; 2nd, Religion should be ignored because it propagates ignorance, part of that ignorance leads to bad things; 3rd, Science is not right because it has supplied reason for bad things just like religion; 4th, Science is the means, but so what? The ends only count - which in this case religion is absolved of it's burden.
2-0-sixx what do you feel about this?

dosent matter what you believe in..well technically it does, but you should have free roam to believe and become involved in whatever you please..you are one person and theres billions of people in the world....your thought dosent like, fly from your head and hit a bell, and the bell gets counted and at the end of the day whoever gets the most bells has their thoughts come true...everyones searching for knowledge here..and theres gonna be things that for most people, will be out of their grasp of understanding....i dont believe in a clear path to the same spot...people have made their own paths..i think were faced with different thoughts and beliefs because it all helps in understanding and spreading central knowledge..if everything was one way wed all be looking for ways out IMO..as far as who created us i think people need to kinda get off that shit....be glad your mom and dad fucked and made you...thats all you need to worry about right now....some things will remain a mystery until you gain enough knowledge on it....and that may very well be spirituality and everthing else known...all in all we should be hoping to be enlightened and learn from life and somehow leave the world with fruits from our labor, you know...for the future.

i dont discredit any religion....because sometimes i act out religious belief without knowing...its all knowledge...including science..and youre probably best off learning from all of it...i might know some shit you dont know and you might know some shit i dont know.... us talking about it might not necessarily give understanding on it...sometimes you have to be placed in a position to learn something...i believe people who believe in religion, are completely right, individually. the moment i went to my grandfathers funeral (he was catholic) and i was on this whole ahtiesm kick as a kid i realized to have respect for peoples beliefs. and thats what i mean kinda...at that moment i was enlightened to learn something that i disregarded my entire life because i was placed in a position to learn it finally. shit happens like that...atleast for me...

hate god all your life and you might call his name out of desperation on your last breath...its happened many times...just be open to learning and understanding everything with a open heart and open mind.....and youll see your mind grow outside of its realm to places you never knew existed....your wrong is another persons right

I feel your post is invalid because again, science is simply the study/observation of something, and that's it. There is no doctrine that says one must do this, one must do that, one will go to hell for doing this, etc. etc. etc. Science doesn't create caste systems. Sciences does say if you're even thinking about another woman you're committing adultery.

It makes statements like "Science is right and has given justification to bad things" completely invalid, science doesn't ever say to do bad things. Man may do bad things but science isn't the leading force, whereas religion, in many cases, is actually the driving force behind bad things.
