I seriously doubt that any minds will be changed over this thread, people will believe more to the side they already believe in. I believe science has it's place and God has His place in science. With science you're dealing with what is consummable and acceptable to the human mind whereas faith requires you to believe with your soul and not your mind. Things beyond what the mind can conceive are possible with faith. Ask anyone who has survived the "final" stages of leukemia through prayer and petition to God. Any of those people say that science is useless. For every person that was told they'd never be able to walk or walk again that runs a marathon etc... Science has explained some things but it's not always a firm law like the law of gravity. There's still much to be learned. The believers of the bible (hopefully) have a life altering experience and lead others to do better for themselves and help their neighbor. It doesn't always happen that way but man is imperfect. Just like the men that are scientists. The bible has flaws through the translations but the teachings remain intact and do not contradict themselves. You may take issue with the bible but the teachings remain constant and can change anyone's lives for the better so instead of reading it and trying to find any little thing wrong with it, focus on the message. You'll likely be better off.

I think science and spirituality will be more present in generations to come. I think there is a understanding in the scientific community about being apart of a "greater" system. I think quantum physics, and really the study of dimensions and the connection to all universe energy in a round about way is trying to explain these tough answers.


I think where ppl go wrong is when they read bible as fact, and not as stories to learn from. Does is it real matter if Jesus was real? or just a character that describes how to live in peace?

it does matter. I see your point but that particular example wasn't a good one. Jesus said he came to die so that the sin of man would be forgiven for those that believe. If he wasn't real and didn't die and wasn't resurrected, there is no salvation.

But Chris especially with what you just said give up man with this thread breh. Believe what you do if it gives you comfort and makes you feel the need to be a good person. Live your life how you want to. That's one of the great things about living in this country for the most part.

I wanna be clear on this. I'm glad no one told me that being a Christian would be easy or that my life would just be instantly better. I think I thought that Christians had it easy before I became one. That's not what drew me to it though. I used to make fun of Christians even though I believed in God. I used to go into a Catholic church after work when I got off at 4 or 5am to pray because I knew that I needed God in my life. Every step I took to try and establish a better relationship with God, I look back and it seems like God took 10 steps towards me to show me how real He was/is.

I respect people's opinions and their beliefs. I obviously don't agree with a lot of them and I have to put up with people saying deliberately offensive things about God which remains the single most important thing in my life. I certainly hope that I don't come off as some "holier than thou" Christian. I'm merely a man that loves God and do my best to live a life that would be holy and pleasing to God. It's not about being persistent in a thread or even giving up because it's a losing battle or a battle lost on people that may never believe. People saying that God isn't real is like someone telling me that I don't exist or was never born to me. That will sound absurd to non-believers but I think a lot of things said are more absurd to me. It is what it is.
