I make plenty of decisions on my own, all of them in fact. We all have free will. I, by no means am a perfect person and I don't expect to be perfect. It's guranteed, I will fail. "for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 But I know forgiveness through Jesus Christ. I don't go out and intentionally sin though. I try and treat other people the way I want to be treated, but I'm an a**hole. It's taken me years to get to the point where I am but I give the credit to God for the change in my life. You can go back and read the thousands of posts I've had over the years and see that I have changed. There isn't a better testimony to the validity of God than the change in peoples lives because of him.

A perfect example of that is the lives of Jesus's disciples. All were young, uneducated men that went on to do incredible things in their lives because of God. They had their doubts even after seeing miracles about who Jesus was. After they saw Him crucified and put in the tomb, then saw him resurrected in bodily form before He ascended into heaven, they didn't waver in their faith again. All of them went on to die a gruesome death in a situation where they could've avoided it by simply denouncing their faith. These were young men, I think they all died before the age of 30 (I could be wrong on that, I'll look it up later) that couldn't be shaken from their faith because of what they'd seen with their own eyes.

This isn't in the bible but I always found it to be pretty profound. "There are no athiests in hell."

More importantly, the bible does say in Isaiah 45:

22 "Turn to me and be saved,
all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other.

23 By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.

24 They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone
are righteousness and strength.' "
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame."

Here's a great documentary that exposes religion and the government. The proof and facts shown are just astounding. If I were a Christian, this film would convert me. But of course, most Christians are too afraid to stop believing, simply because of that "what if?" factor, and that's their biggest flaw. Anyways, check it out. If this film doesn't change your opinion on religion, it will still take you deep into the evils of government.

I figured someone would say something like this. Let me say that NOTHING will make me stop believing. Not because I'm afraid that I've been living a lie as some people would say or something along those lines. It's hard to explain to someone that hasn't been saved, but the day that I was saved, I knew God was real. I had accepted God in my life before that and I would hate to hear people say that God isn't real, or that the bible is a lie etc... There was a single day that changed my life forever. When I was praying at church and really let go of any doubts about who God might be, I completely surrendered myself to God. I was crying tears of joy and it was like I could feel all the guilt and pain being lifted from my shoulders and nearly felt weightless. I had my eyes closed, but it felt like the roof above me flew off the building and the sun was beating on my back. My whole body was warm all of the sudden and the tears that were falling on my hands when I was praying were as warm as boiling water and I felt God's approval of my decision. There is no way for me to share what this feeling was with anyone that doesn't believe or has experienced it but I've met tons of people that had almost identical experiences when truly accepting God in their lives. My life changed from that point forward though I was still ignorant to many things in life, I at least knew how real God was from that point forward. A video isn't going to change that

Anybody can achieve that feeling, you just have to WANT to feel it. That's the power of the human mind. If you keep telling yourself, "I feel weightless, there's a warm energy in my hands, etc." then you will start to feel that within a few minutes. And you do know that churches are the most corrupt forms of religion, right? They're money making schemes and almost everybody who works in a church is an actor. If you want to be spiritual, the first thing you should do is stop going to church and listening to their indoctrination (which has obviously worked perfectly on you). That's ignorant praise to me- saying you're religious, and therefore you MUST go to church, and MUST read the Bible everyday. And as I recall, the Bible states that in Heaven, all you do is praise "god" for eternity. If that's how it is, then Hell might be more interesting, since you'd be feeling eternal pain in many different ways, right? How can "god" write a book about EVERYTHING, but only talk about Earth, and even then, leave out the important events that happened 4 billion years prior? Why aren't dinosaurs mentioned, but other animals, plants, and humans are?

Do you believe that life exists only on Earth? Remember, if you say otherwise, you'd (once again) be contradicting the word of your creator (which you don't credit as your biological mother and father).

It's safe to say that science has surpassed the teachings of the Bible by a long mile in the past century, and it will infinitely continue to do so, while the Bible will remain the same, teaching one how to survive in the year 1 A.D.

I assure you, you couldn't duplicate that feeling, even in meditation. I wasn't searching for that feeling either, it happened all at once. Thanks for trying to discount it.

The church didn't sell me on anything. I made the decision to follow God and devote my life to Him before attending church regularly. Another poor assumption on your part, I applaud you.

The bible isn't a commentary on plants, the internet, dinosaurs or recycling either for that fact. It's about man's relationship with God. Does it need to mention the dinosaurs? If it did, would that make you change your mind about the bible? I'm sure you refute the story of the flood and Noah's Ark, but how else would you explain those same dinosaurs' bones being found fused into the side of mountains? An asteroid hitting the earth and causing the ice age doesn't explain that.

Animals and people do and can evolve to a certain extent but dead animals cannot. The giraffe for example. It's brain would explode if it didn't have the spongy material at the back of it's neck when it tried to bend down to drink water. The blood pressure coming down would literally cause enough brain damage to kill the Giraffe. What, did a dead giraffe tell it's kids that it better evolve and develop some spongy material so it doesn't die trying to drink water? There's tons of animals that descredit the theory of evolution, including humans. We evolved from monkeys and apes yet I can go to the zoo and see... monkeys and apes. Are those my dumber, less evolutionary cousins that didn't have the brain power to stand upright and grow opposable thumbs? And Christians are the dumb ones right?

I don't discredit science but some scientists are too smart for their own freakin good. Their micro view overlooks the macro point.

that is completely and utterly ridiculous. If it were, there would be no people that look to the bible at all for any reason, they would look to science museums

There's so much wrong with CHRISHOGGALYPSE's last post I wish I had the time to sit here and point them out. But I have to go. I'll just say he needs to learn about evolution, natural selection, and because of that statement about noah's flood being the only explanation for finding dinosaur bones in the side of a mountain he also needs to learn about taphonomy.

Most religious people will never understand. They've been taught all of their lives to believe something. They don't realize if they were born somewhere on the other side of the globe it would be completely different. Once you start to look from other perspectives, other than the narrow one you've learned, you see the fallacy and corruption. I still believe we were created by "God", and with evolution/science, but I don't follow any religion.

What the hell, why are you backtracking? We already established the fact that Bible thumperz were brainwashed to believe that The Good Book is the only science textbook allowed. Try reading The Bible from a different point of view tonight. What do you see in the messages? It's just a bunch of rules. Christianity (and basically every other religion, too) is nothing but a dirty, conniving, make-belive form of secret government.
YOU'RE WORSHIPING THE MAN!

Is it true that "god" won't save the soldiers?
