Ladies and gentleman this is Dutch telling yall why YOU will fail not him.

The problem you are talking about is only a problem for the indies. To solve it rappers need to sign to a major and actually have some talent.

So what you just shipped 16 k with over 8k in sound scans and get 1000 a verse, if you've been rapping for as long as you have and don't do those numbers it would be a shame. You got long time fans and from what I hear you got some flow. I even liked one of your songs I downloaded sometime last year. Alot of guys get $1000 a verse but from who ? Other indy artists ? Will P Diddy, Ice Cube, T.I., Snoop Dogg or anybody signed to a major pay you a rack to get down and let you be in the video and get radio play ? If so that's the real accomplishment. Let's all face it rap is a young mans' game let's get our old asses out of the way and encourage them to shine. All this "the bay will never blow" bullshit is not helping. Do you see JT The Bigga Figga complaining ? No.

im here to defeat all odds. moving away from statistaclly speakin, this has been an issue but only if u make it that, some people lose there work ethic but from me going to school for music recording arts; ive found out that there is a countless amounts of people who reside and are from the bay area who have grammy awards in the pop and rock industry from engineering and producing,i know cuz some of em are my instructors. i feel that connections are here, there are alot of people who are on major tours with big stars as wwe speak and others who have just gotten back

anything is possible

Its a sinking ship. A bad investment. Even when things were good I always told myself this is a hobby not a career. In 10 years time cd's will be what tapes were to records. Record stores are closing. Major Labels are already cashing out. Music files will be sold cheap and online sharing will eventually kill that...I saw it coming started going to school and have a career making decent loot. I still buy cds just not compact discs ya dig? Get ya money market game up.

^thas why you gotta know what you doin and do it right...get your publishing and such to make sure you get paid for your work no matter how it gets into the consumers hands.......there will always be a music industry even if CD's stop being manufactured and everything goes to digital media from the internet someone still has to record and make new music.....we aint gonna download the same ol shit from 2007 in 2040.....

I feel you Fam, All I saying though is ya better off opening a fucking hot dog stand rather than a record company. If you can keep your head above water level selling units...Congratulations. Knowledge increases your chances of success but you cant teach drive motivation or determination.
