actually I still favor floyd a bit against pac I was off on that 50/50 remark, that's not honest on my part. styles make fights we all know that so cotto doing well against floyd obviously doesn't mean pac would.

but I will say this - floyd was more vulnerable then I've probably ever seen him, he's much easier to be hit and it showed. now, he's not using his legs like he has in the past and whether that's him fighting this way on purpose, age or both, whatever the reason he's standing in front of his opponents and that obviously gives the opponent more opportunities than in the past when he would pot shot and stay out of harms way.

pac is a southpaw, which can be effective against floyd's defense, he throws alot of punches and most of all he has the stamina to fight 12 full rounds unlike cotto who faded a bit down the stretch.

all of that tells me its a fight that is closer than some may think. I also don't think a jab is essential in beating floyd, as Castillo was effective various different ways (although floyd fought different back then so that's kind of irrelevant now).

of course it may never happen and this may end up just being another fantasy fight.
2-0-Sixx the 6th round of the Cotto vs Mayweather fight proves to me that Mayweather will beat Manny. Watch that round and tell me that Cotto didn't land some bombs on Mayweaher, that's when Floyd nose started bleeding, and what happened at by the end of the round?? Mayweather got mean and landed some bombs that backed Cotto up. I'm telling you Manny is going to be in trouble if, he gets in the ring with Mayweather. I'm going to re-watch the HBO replay, because this fight was a high level brutal boxing classic. Both Cotto and Mayweather made a lot of fans that night.

I don't think cotto tells us much of anything, other than showing floyd can be at times vulnerable. Pac & Cotto obviously fight with two totally different styles, so it's tough to say. Cotto applies better pressure obviously as that's his game, pac is faster & hits harder and has that in and out style of fighting. It's an intriguing match up, no doubt it.

floyd is going to have to bend away from that flat fee talk. if this last ppv ends up doing as well as people are saying he's certainly entitled to a larger purse but it can't be this flat fee shit. 60/40 or 55/45 whatever just be fair.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with this, there is no other way to put it! 206 nailed it!

I honestly thought Floyd was about to go down, Floyd has heart and a good chin. I think if he can take Cotto's shots at 154 he should be able to take a couple of Pacquiao's at 147. Not his left though... stay away from Pacquiao's left, circle to the left.

^^But the question should be asked can Manny take Mayweather's right hook and left uppercut for 12 rounds. Think about Manny jumping in and catching a uppercut while his feet is off the ground..

When did u think Floyd was gonna go down? What round? He was never hurt. Cotto however was staggered a couple of times and hurt bad in the 12th. Floyd had his composure the whole fight. Dont think he was ever hurt or even anyway where near about to go down. Got Em!!

I can't remember the exact round(s), but it looked like Floyd's legs were gone or leaving (in the middle of the fight). It looked like the body shots that Cotto were landing were taking effect. Come on now dog.... Cotto landed that jab that busted Floyd's nose. You saw the slow motion replays, Cotto was landing some good shots that were snapping Floyd's head back. But to say he was never hurt is wrong. He was hurt but I don't think he was in trouble like in the Mosley fight.

Floyd pulled through though.

Not sure about that, Manny has a good chin, but Floyd has been putting some power behind his punches lately. That uppercut he hurt Cotto with in round 12 was brutal, Cotto's legs turned into spaghetti.

From round 6 thru 9 Cotto was landing some bombs, but Mayweather was landing more bombs, and started punishing Cotto from the 10th round till the end. He had Cotto hurt and almost down in the last round. Mayweather stand toe to toe with Cotto and we got a all action fight. Mayweather's combo punching, right hook, and left uppercut was a work of art. Cotto's left jab and hard body punching was brutal. We see why Mr. Talk To My Promoter wanted no part of Cotto at a 150lb catchweight.

This is what people are forgetting about Manny.

-Mosley and Marquez had Manny confused with a little movement, missing wild punches all night.
-Manny will have to submit to random drug testing.
-Manny doesn't know how to cut off the ring, to back Mayweather into the ropes.
-Mayweather defense is better then anything Manny has seen.
-Manny is wide open for counter shots.
-Mayweather will not me weight drained

Add all them factors up and you have a long hard night for Manny.

Plus Bradley might beat him anyway.

Mosley give out the blueprint of how to beat Manny. After the knocked down Manny didn't land another hard shot on old ass Mosley. If Mosley would've countered punched like Marquez did, the fight would've looked different. Manny was hitting air against Mosley..

But Marquez had the blueprint 3x already.

the only blueprint mosley laid down was how to survive 12 rounds and lose a lopsided decision by retreating for 10 rounds trying not to get hurt.

you can say jmm has the blueprint but certainly not mosley as he didn't do anything in that fight but retreat and avoid fighting.

I just watched the whole fight again just now and Mayweather was never hurt! What I did notice is that not only was Cotto obviously hurt in the 12th but he was also hurt in the 9th. Also I initially gave Cotto 3 rounds during the first viewing of the fight and after watching again I only gave him 2 rounds which were the 6th & 8th round and thats it. Also how in the heck did Lederman give Cotto the 5th round? That was mind boggling. I mean he got every other round right so I will give him a pass but still curious! Manny doesnt want none of Money May. Got Em!!

He was never hurt? Go watch round 8.
As u may have read before I just watched the entire fight again and May was never hurt in the 8th and everytime he got hit he punched right back and shook his head everytime the fans thought Cotto landed a clean shot and he let us know that it didnt do jack. His legs never buckled once in the 8th and he stood his ground the whole round while fighting back. Got Em!!

if a fighter shakes their head after getting hit that isn't proof they werent hurt, often times guys do it when they are in fact hurt. hell, floyd was smiling after he was nearly dropped by mosley. now, that isn't to say floyd was hurt but he certainly looked bothered and very uncomfortable to say the least.
