You really think Mayweather drew those fans?????

That was De la Hoya pimp....

He drew that crowd.

Did De la Hoya give Mayweather a 50/50 split?
Floyd drew that crowd with his "promotional" trash talk during the HBO 24/7 series. De La Hoya didn't give Mayweather a 50/50 split because Mayweather wasn't as a big of a PPV draw as Oscar was at the time.

You just proved my point and you don't even know it. Hell no Mayweather didn't get a 50/50 split with ODLH. Because at the time ODLH was the boss, just Mayweather is the boss now. Mayweather is the PPV King. ODLH biggest money making fight wasn't against Tito, Vagas, Chavez, B-Hop, or Manny. It was against Mayweather. Mayweather proven he's the PPV King and the King get's the biggest share. Then throw in the fact that Manny doesn't even get a 50/50 share in his own in-house Top Rank fight, no way should he get a 50/50 split..

FYI, It's it funny that Manny refused to fight Cotto above 148lb for a rematch, but the Manny want to claim that Cotto wasn't weight drained at 145lb.. just something to think about..

Argument About Floyd Mayweather Jr. Leads to Murder

by David P. Greisman

A man has been accused of killing a 20-year-old in Phoenix because he was apparently offended that the victim was not a fan of Floyd Mayweather Jr., according to The Denver Post.

The alleged shooter, Allen "bigface" Robinson, 31, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Police say Robinson and another man approached the victim, 20-year-old Francisco Suarez, and a 19-year-old man on May 6 outside of a convenience store in Phoenix. The men asked these underage men to buy them alcohol, as the clerk inside had already refused to sell to them because they seemed drunk, according to the article.

The conversation turned into a discussion about Mayweather, who had beaten Miguel Cotto by unanimous decision just hours before. Police said Robinson got upset that the young men weren’t Mayweather fans and fired a gun several times, killing Suarez, according to the article.

The other man who was with Robinson has turned himself in to police.
This shit is all over the news here in Phoenix, AZ too. One point goes to you 2-0-Sixx that was a good one.

Mayweather-Cotto Generates 1.5 Million Buys, $94 Million

NEW YORK -- HBO Sports® reported today that 1.5 million pay-per-view buys were generated from the May 5 super welterweight title fight between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The fight was promoted by Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.

The 1.5 million buy total generated $94 million in pay-per-view revenue.

The performance of Mayweather-Cotto ranks as the second highest grossing non-heavyweight pay-per-view event in boxing history. No. 1 all-time is Mayweather’s record-setting showdown with Oscar de la Hoya ($137 million) in 2007.
Mayweather owns a perfect 43-0 record as a professional prizefighter.

Mayweather vs. Cotto along with the co-feature of Alvarez vs. Mosley will replay exclusively on HBO Saturday, May 12 at 10:15 p.m. ET/ PT.

Canelo will have his own PPV in Sept. So all the guys talking about he's the draw can prove your point come Sept.
Honestly, I think Canelo is a bit overrated. I think people wanted to see the spectacle that is Shane Mosley. What I mean by that is people wanted to see how far Mosley had fell off and if he still had it. We all have our answer now. The guy needs to hang it up. And I'm not taking anything away from Canelo, he's a young warrior, he went in there, got butted, stayed with his plan and pulled out a victory. But, I still think he needs better fights.

Bigface, when Floyd fought DLH where was Floyd ranked when it came to P4P? What were his numbers before DLH?

I think floyd's ppvs were around 250,00-400,000. anyone who beats oscar becomes a star for the most part.

so floyd-cotto did 1.5 million, pac-jmm did 1.41 million, definitely very close and floyd isn't massively ahead like he claims so 50/50 would be ok right now. but I suspect pac-bradley will do like 1.1 million, something like that since no one really knows bradley so floyd will have the upperhand.

pac will have to take less but floyd has to be reasonable. I like top ranks offer of 45/45 with the extra 10 going to the winner, that's fair, if not pac may just have to take 55/45 or even 60/40, but I don't think floyd will even do that but we'll see after june 9th.

hopefully they realize there is simply no one left. there is berto and ortiz which honestly just doesn't sound exciting and there is canelo who's is 21 years old. nothing else unless they rake huge risks and move up to fight martinez.

cotto is the third biggest draw in boxing, as far as american ppv goes. canelo is massive in Mexico, but same goes for other guys outside the US the klitchkos are massive, bute is massive in Canada, etc.

he's getting there though. as for his upcoming ppv its got to be a solid opponent to do real numbers, most boxing fans these days are smart enough to not buy some weak fight. if its kirkland or someone like that, yeah it will do good.

I'd favor cotto too right now but I'm pretty sure he's going to take some time off. maybe kirkland could be next I dunno. the wbc ordered lara vs vanes as supposedly a final eliminator for Canelo but vanes turned it down as always so I'm not sure what's going to happen. I just hope it's a top rated fighter. kirkland, molina, lara, any of these guys are worthy. not sure who else it could be.

I would like to see him in Kirkland in the ring too. There's some good young fighters out there.
