This thread made me go study up a little bit on controlling your dreams. For awhile I was waking up and writing everything down that I could remember. Ever since that night I have remembered more dreams than I ever had. I haven't had a chance to control anything but I made progress. I've been slacking off a bit, hopefully this thread will get me workin on it again.

Ive remembered this moment from when I was little (probably 6 or 7) since it happened, because its such a strong memory and Ive never been able to explain it. I could never remember if I was dreaming or if I was awake, but I always thought I was awake even though its very hard to believe. And now that Im reading about all this sleep paralysis I think that might be the explanation for it... I remember I was lying in my bed watching tv and then I saw something move by my door and I looked over and it was a big shadow (My dad's 6'5" but it was bigger than that) but the way it was shaped I thought it was the Easter Bunny for some reason. I tried to get up and screm for my mom but I couldnt talk or move. It just stood in the same spot, never moved even slightly, and then it just shrunk very quicky until it disappeared, and I cant remember anything after that. Seems like the phantom figure you guys have been talking about, along with being scared and not able to move so maybe thats what happened to me...

On the lucid Dreams part, Ive had one, and it was about a month after my friend introduced me to the whole thing. He had told me that his roomate had been having them for awhile (both my friend and his roomate are very heavy drug users) and he had finally had one where he had a hover board and was riding around all over Chicago, then he became a wherewolf and said it was great cuz he was just walking around killing whoever he felt like (Actual people we know) The weirdest part is that he said he could actually taste the blood when he would kill them.
When I had mine I was having a really fucked up dream (most of the ones I can actually remember are) where I was hanging onto the branches of a giant tree and they were swaying everywhere and I could barely hang on, the whole thing was so crazy I asked myself if it was a dream, and then I thought to myself if this is a dream I want to fuck Carmen Electra, and BAM I was in a bed with a woman, I dont remember if it was really carmen electra but once I saw that I was having a lucid dream I tried to fly but I only levitated a couple feet off the ground and then I woke up. Ive never had one since then

A few days after my grandma died I had a dream where me and some of my relatives were gathering together and my grandma's spirit came and visited us, kind of like a farewell announcement or something. In my dream, she let us know she was happy, and showed us that she was no longer confined to a wheelchair and how she could now do whatever she wished.
Well anyways later in my dream we all got a chance to ask my grandma questions, i can't remember what I asked her, but I remember my aunt asking her if she had any pain(when she died)....without a response my grandma faded away.

A month or so later I was at dinner with my aunt and mom. We were talking about how much we missed my grandma. Well anyways my aunt starts talking about a dream she had in which my grandma had visited her and several other relatives, my aunt then says that she asked my grandma if she had any pain when she died and how my grandma didnt respond and jsut faded away after that.

@Ccytzo: that is some crazy shit, glad u shared it.
Woaw....
That's trippy dogg.

Damn. I had a similar experience but not to the point where a second person shared a similar dream with me. That's really something.
Back in 98 my grandma was losing her battle with cancer.
One night, while she's on her death bed I have this dream where I wake up and she's standing in front of the door to my room. She is standing there well dressed and smiling at me, I rushed to her and gave her a big hug. I was happy to see her very healthy but I got the feeling that she was there to say goodbye.
I go to work that day and come home to find out that my dad flew her to Mexico ealier that morning (while I was asleep) to recieve "traditional" Mexican treatment.
A few days later she passed away down there....

Trippy stuff....

Several years ago I experienced a dream in which I was able to take complete control. I was asleep and I knew this in my dream. I realized that my body was asleep and that each object and character around me was a creation of my mind. Because of this I was able to do anything I desired- fly, jump over buildings, travel to outer space, etc. Since then I only experienced one or two lucid dreams

I'VE EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT THING!!! PRETTY CREEPY :paranoid:

Last night I had my first sleep paralysis episode. I woke up at around 2 am, I heard my front door open and close. I looked up and could hear someone walking into my house, then heard them walk into my room. I tried to move but COULDNT, (very strange and terrifying sensation) and tried to yell something at the intruder but nothing came out. A feeling of panic swept over me, and i started breathing very rapidly. Then when i could finally move i was very relieved, and i checked my house and sure enough no one was there. It didn't occur to me what had actually happened until this morning (thanks to this thread, before I had no idea what sleep paralysis was)

^^Pickin up cars, that's tight shit.

I had a very violent episode the other night. I’m not sure how to categorize this one. Basically I was dreaming of some random shit and I WOKE up, and felt like I was dying- like my insides, particularly my heart was shutting down, I (thought) I couldn’t breathe- I was convinced I was in massive pain. This lasted probably for about 20-30 seconds, tops. During this time, I didn’t move much, not because I was in sleep paralysis, but because of the immense pain. I remember thinking to myself- “well, this is it, game over. Time to embrace the darkness.” It was kind of comforting for a brief moment. Anyways, the shit ended and I felt cool, but I was puzzled and I didn’t know if it was real or if I was dreaming and only partially awake. Personally I think it was the latter. Anyone else have something similar?

I always have dreams where im being chased and I cant move my legs and run away. I usually sleep on my stomach, so I attribute this to actually trying to move my legs and they wont move because they are against my mattress.

There is one dream I had when I was around 3-4 yrs old that I can still remember clearly to this day. There were these monsters that looked like big blobs of color. Its really strange that I can still remember a dream from when I was that young, yet I cant remember when my sister was born when I was the same age...

I have memories of when i was 2 and 3 , and some of them i cant tell if they were dreams or reality.... sooo trippy.

Like i have a memory of both my grandparents getting together and talking and stuff when i was like 3, but then i learned that they had never met each other.

I have always been a lucid dreamer, but I fuck with myself I guess. In the fact that I know that I am dreaming but every time I try to interact, whatever I would try to manipulate goes away. But If I sit there and observe, everything will continue to unfold, on a sub-consious level...I guess.

I HAVE A CONDITION CALLED SLEEP PARALYSIS....A RARE OCCURANCE DURING REM SLEEP THAT WAKES UP YOUR MIND WHILE YOUR BODY IS PARALYZED....APPARENTLY THERE IS A SORT OF "SWITCH" IN THE AREA THAT YOUR SPINAL CORD MEETS THE BRAIN WHICH PARALYZES YOUR BODY SO THAT YOU DONT ACT OUT YOUR DREAMS IN REAL LIFE....WELL FOR A LOT OF FOLKS THIS SWITCH CAN FUCC UP AND THEY DO ACT OUT IN THE FORM OF SLEEP WALKING.....SLEEP PARALYSIS IS THE OPPOSITE WHERE YOUR MIND WAKES UP (I CAN SEE AND HEAR) BUT YOUR BODY IS STILL FROZEN(CANT MOVE OR SPEAK).....WHEN THIS HAPPENS I TEND TO SEE FIGURES IN THE ROOM WITH ME....USUALLY DARK SHADOWY TYPES.....I HEAR SOUNDS RANGIN FROM WIERD LAUGHS & WHISPERS TO LARGE CROWDS SCREAMIN......IT CAN BE A FRIGHTNING EXPERIANCE SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIMES IT HAS BEEN SORT OF PEACEFULL....THE EXPERIANCE IS SAID TO BE RARE AND EVERYONE MAY HAVE AN EPISODE AT LEAST ONCE IN THIER LIFE BUT I MUGT BE A SPECIAL CASE CUZ I HAVE IT AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH AT THE MINIMAL AND HAVE HAD TIMES WHERE I GET IT 2-3 TIMES A NIGHT EVERY NIGHT FOR WEEKS ON END.....AN EVEN RARER AND STRANGE OCCURANCE ASSOCIATED WITH IT IS AN OUT OF BODY EXPERIANCE....I HAVE FOUND MYSELF TRYIN TO GET UP OR TRYIN TO WALK ACCROSS THE ROOM ONLY TO LOOK BACC AT THE BED AND SEE MY BODY STILL LAYIN THERE ASLEEP.....

WELL ANYWAYS...I WAS READING UP ON IT ONLINE AND A GUY WHO ALSO HAS THESE EPISODES ON A REGULAR BASIS CLAIMS TO HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OVER HIS OUT OF BODY EXPERICANCES AND HAS TRAVELED AROUND HIS NEIGHBORHOOD FOR HOURS WHILE IN THIS STATE....HE TRIES TO EXPLAIN HOW HE ACHIEVES THIS.....SO AFTER READING THIS I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING MYSELF WHEN I HAVE AN EPISODE AND THE CRAZIEST SHIT HAPPENED A FEW WEEKS AGO.....I FOUND MYSELF FALLIN OFF THE BED AND REALIZED I HAD LEFT MY BODY....SO WITHOUT TRYIN TOO HARD TO CONCENTRATE ON MOVIN MYSELF PHYSICALLY I SORT OF CRAWLED/FLOATED TOWARDS MY COMPUTER DESK.....I ALWAYS TURN THE COMP OFF BEFORE BED.....I MANAGED TO REACH OUT AND TOUCH THE COMPUTER AND I COULD FEEL IT....I PRESSED THE POWER BUTTON IN AND SAW IT LIGHT UP....I TRIED TO MOVE OUT OF THE ROOM BUT I LOST CONCENTRATION AND ENDED UP WAKIN UP IN MY BED.....AND WHEN I LOOKED AT THE COMPUTER SURE ENOUGH IT WAS STARTING UP......

ITS SOME CRAZY SHIT TO BELEIVE BUT ITS THE TRUTH AND I WONDER HOW MUCH ONE CAN REALLY DO IF THEY WERE TO MASTER THIS ABILITY.....ITS KINDA SCARY THINKIN OF THE POSSIBILTY OF PEOPLE FLOATIN AROUND IN A SPIRIT FORM BEING ABLE TO PHYSICALLY TOUCH THINGS....
I have the same diagnosis, Sleep Paralysis, if I sleep on my back it happens almost every night, I have to sleep my my sides, that way it doesn't happen, it's fucked up. My experience is that I wake up, and I know right away that I can't move, so I try to move and sure enough I can't move. The reality to it is that I am still asleep, fast asleep, but a part of me is awake, just not my mobility, sometimes I even feel a hard vibration, a shake through my body, but rarely. After about 30 seconds I just say tomyself fuck it, and I try really hard and I break out of it, and I wake up, or I just relax and do it that way. It's not something to have to lose sleep over I'll tell you that, but this is actually MORE common than people think, I know of several people who have the same thing. I ain't ever seen myself sleeping, now that's one crazy dream but I control 90% of my dreams, so basically I'm having about 2-3 lucid dreams a week on average. The problem I have with them is right when I start to enjoy them, I wake the fuck up, and it pisses me off. But get this, I've had a lucid dream, woke up, past out and went back to the same dream, multiple times in one night, it was fucked up.

You know what's messed, you were sleeping that whole time. People who can get into DEEP REM fast, most likely experience Lucid or Paralysis. I've literally had a nap, I checked the time before I went to sleep, and had a dream, got up and it was like 2-3 minutes later. It's nutty man, but thats only when I'm crazy tired. If you have Sleep Paralysis again, be calm, cause its nothing but you waking up from a deep sleep.

yeah majority of my sleep paralysis episodes happen within 10 minutes of falling asleep....alot within 2-3 like you jus said....and its a trip cuz you feel like you was asleep for a while but same time you know it wasnt that long....like you said some people slop into Deep REM fast.....also from some shit i was readin about....thiers a switch of sort thas in our nervous system/spinal cord that switches your bodies functions off when your in REM sleep...this is to keep you from actin out your dreams....ive come to my own conclusion that Sleep Walking and Sleep Raralysis are both cuased by this switch malfunctioning (somethin electrical maybe????) both condisitons are jus opposite each other....sleep walking allows your body to be awake and move while your dreaming and sleep paralysis allows your mind to be partially awake while your body still sleeping....not a proven fact jus my own understanding of it......i stil havent gone to a nuerologist yet and since the last time i posted in this thread my sleep paralysis episodes have seriously died down....i beleive alot of it is stress related and also when i dont smoke any weed i tend to get the episodes as opposed to when i go to bed blunted.....

well i dunno what extent your episode experiances have gone to but its hard to jus be calm wit some of the ones ive had....i always think ive gotten used to em then somethin fucced up happens and scares the shit out me more.....like the time i caught a demon/shadow creature actually fuccin wit me.....i was havin a real dream it seemed when all a sudden everything looked reddish....i felt awake but my eyes were closed which is why i was seeing red.....i felt that i was waking up when all a sudden on the bacc of my eyelids i noticed movement....the movement quiccly turned into a word being writtin out in front of me....engraving itself in the bacc of my eyelid.....i began reading it as it went.....S-a-t-a....in a scratchy type style....before the n was spelled though i suddenly opened my eyes and felt the paralysis kicc in.....at the same moment i seen a shadowy/manta ray/ bat type creature no bigger than an average cat jump up off my chest like it was startled....instantly it flew straight up into the ceiling....then the episode ended and i was awake.....but i couldnt shake the image out my head and i had the feeling that i caught the thing doin somethin it didnt wanna be caught doing....and i could tell it was actually surprised and maybe even shocced that i had seen it.....i know alot of this can be wrote off as sub concious thoughts twisting around in my brain....but man i know the difference between reality and sub conciousness and this felt real as fucc.....
