LINCECUM COMES THROUGH AGAIN IN FRANCHISE FASHION!! If Brian Wilson hadn't blown his save in Milwaukee the Giants would be doin' better since they are competing with the Brewers for the wild card at this moment.

Ceiling= maximum consistent output/production

:dead:

Ethier's career avg is .293

u should be ashamed for trying to use that smiley on me

LA Dodgers claimed Ethiers ceiling for avg to be .285

this is his 4th year. he has 2 seasons over 300 and one season at .284

how can someones "ceiling" be below their career avg?

off urselves for trying to argue facts with retarded predictions

From the Chronicle:

TRADE CHATTER: Giants scout Paul Turco was seen at Monday's White Sox-Indians game, possibly looking at Tribe first baseman Victor Martinez, whom the Giants are thought to admire.
I'd give the Indians something along the lines of Tim Alderson, Henry Sosa, Jesus Guzman and Fred Lewis/Randy Winn for Martinez and Lonnie Chisenhall.

if sadowski continues to pitch good, we could add him to a package including sanchez and another player or two for a hitter. At the trade deadline we're one of the few teams equipped to take a big salaried player should teams seek to offload players to free up salary.

lewis and sosa might be enough.....martinez might not command an alderson type prospect because martinez is a "bat only" catcher....with slightly below average defense

in case you forgot, bobby abreu still holds the record for most total homers in a mlb home run derby
in case you forgot abreau is past his prime and his power numbers seem to have disappeared thus far................maybe an angels fan can correct me but the last time i checked he was at 2 or 3 HR on the season........

beating miguel cabrera, bobby abreu, andres gallaraga
oh ya the Big Cat, Andres Gallarraga, who hasnt played in the Majors in what, 7 or 8 years? is he 50 yet?? i would hope sandoval beat galaraga in an EXHIBITION event where batting practice coaches pitch to players trying to hit it out of the park............

fuck trading top prospects in a package for a older guy.

keep sosa and alderson. have a 4-5 ace caliber rotation in the next 2 years.

learn to read. 650 said "can". meaning he has the potential/possibility to.
ya, i guess i can see where Sandoval has the potential to steal 25 bases like D. Wright can with excellent game changing defense at 3B.................

oh ya and he also has the potential to walk 100 times and strike out 50 or less times in a full season...........post 50 HR, .330 average, 135 RBI, 100 Run, .400+ OB%, ect like Pujols can............................

with those expectations Sandoval is doomed to be hated in SF within just a few years when he puts up meager numbers similar to .300, 85R, 100 RBI, 25 HR.........................

Abreu has only played 60 games this year. he had 20 homers last year and can still rip up a HR derby.

ya Big Cat is old but he was a great hitter and here are some quotes from him about Pablo.

"No doubt he's going to hit a lot of home runs in the next couple of years," Galarraga said. "Also, this year, I believe, in the second half he's going to hit more home runs."

"He's a great hitter," the Big Cat said. "The best thing about him is that he's so natural. He can swing high, low, out, at inside pitches. He makes contact and hits it hard. He reminds me a lot of Vladimir Guerrero. Those hitters can make it tough for the pitchers, because the pitchers don't know how to throw to those guys. Whatever they throw, they make contact."

interestingly enough, a former silver slugger with over 2,000 career hits compared Pablo to a guy i mentioned myself.

sidenote: Galarraga's problem when he retired was on the defense side, not with the bat. and he hasnt played in 4 years. again not very close to your claim of 7 or 8 years. he retired during spring training of 05 in which he had 3 homers during spring training.

Yeah, he might not command an Alderson type...but I'm sure the Indians will try to start there...Sosa/Guzman/Lewis might do it though

I'd see if we can pry Chisenhall away from them though (2008 first rounder) also...

i always thought Galarraga retired due to cancer or some shit?

Pucetas should be getting the call up if Sadowski doesn't pan out.

cant wait til we see a Lincecum, Cain, Bumgarner, Alderson, Pucetas/Sanchez rotation.. Dont know about Lowry looks done.

thats too much to be giving for those two..
What I like about Martinez is that he has a club option for 2010, this allows us to let Molina walk (while collecting draft picks because he's most likely a Type A) and gives Posey more than enough time to refine his game until he can be brought up at mid-season to spell Martinez at catcher.

Also, Martinez can play some 1B giving us some flexibility...

650 said "can" and i said "potential/possibility". however i also said learn to read, what i meant was learn to comprehend.

its apparent you have several other learning dissabilities so my "expectations" wont be too high for you.

wow.........calm down there with the 4-5 ace pitching staff............last team to consistantly have 3 Aces in their prime on the same team in the past 20 or so years was Atlanta.........
bumgarner is an ace, that puts us at 3 aces in our rotation. in the next 2 years.

sosa or alderson could be an ace, or both. its quite possible.

and you forgot the a's with hudson, mulder, zito

WOW. OMG. CALM DOWN. GEESH.
dont forget your inhaler.

you forgot Sosa, who hits 98mph and has a wicked curve. he could pan out better than alderson, except alderson is a lefty which has its value.
