i stand by my statement.............just about any MLB player can hit 4 HR in a series..............the problem is doing it on a consistant basis...........and to be consistant for Sandoval IMO is at best 25-30.....but more like 25 especially playing at AT&T
I agree with Pablo's power ceiling being 25-30 HR's, but I'll gladly take that from my 3B (especially if he is hitting for high average).

^^^ not in a series. in a single game. the game where he had 2 homers. right after his 2nd homer they closed the dome. his next at bat was up against the wall. his last at bat had a shot down the line barely foul. if the dome had been open both those balls could have carried more.

and no, not "just about any player" can hit 4 homers in a series. u used to have some actual knowledge but lately u've been a supertard.

to top it off, pablo hasnt played a full mlb season yet so u really have no clue what his ceiling is. he has 11 homers this year currently, in nearly his rookie season, so he's on pace for the "ceiling" prediction you ignorantly stand by. i guess at 22 years old you're past your prime.

here is a former scouting report (question and answer by fans and a BA scout) i found on Bowker by baseball america

What is your assessment of outfielder John Bowker in the Giants system? Double-A Connecticut has been a graveyard for San Francisco's hitting prospects, yet he seemed to get his prospect status back there. Should we give him extra credit for not only jump-starting his minor league career, but doing so in an extreme pitcher's park? And given that the Pacific Coast League is a hitter’s league, what kind of numbers will Bowker have to generate in Triple-A Fresno next summer to be consider a legit major league prospect? What is his ultimate major league potential?

Lyle Bontrager
Memphis

A third-round pick out of Long Beach State in 2004, Bowker is one of the better position prospects in the Giants system. But that speaks more to San Francisco's inventory of up-and-coming hitters than it does to Bowker's true worth.

Bowker had the best season of his pro career in 2007, hitting .307/.363/.523 with 22 homers and 90 RBIs in 139 games at Double-A Connecticut. Though he played mostly right field and saw some time in center, he's a below-average arm who's best suited for left field. His bat will have to carry him and the jury is still out on whether it can, because he doesn’t control the strike zone very well (103 strikeouts vs. 41 walks) and at 24 he wasn't young for his level.

As Lyle noted, Bowker deserves credit for performing in a tough pitcher's park. The Defenders posted a .639 OPS and 2.84 ERA at Dodd Memorial Stadium, compared to a .766 OPS and 4.61 ERA on the road. He could put up even bigger numbers in Triple-A, and if he does, the Giants almost assuredly will give him a big league chance in 2008. Like Moore, Bowker is more of a reserve on a good club and not a player of great long-term value.

you're both wrong.

heres one example why. he beat miguel cabrera in the final round

bobby abreu also participated. i couldnt find the complete list tho. props for anyone that can find the list of everyone else pablo beat.

another example is that pablo can crush bad balls, similar to vlad guerrero.

3rd, the kid is only 22 and still improving and learning. he doesnt take a lot of pitches yet but once he starts sitting on pitches his power numbers will go up.

sowhat was it 2 Hr or 4 HR's???????????? in recent games the past few years i have seen such power hitters as Clint Barmes, David Eckstein, and Adam Kennedy hit HR's like they were going out of fashion......so ya just about any player can have a good series..............some possible exceptions are Juan Pierre, Nick Punto, Willie Tavarez, and a few others......but not too many

The holes in his swing got exposed during the second half of 2008. This year he came back with a new approach and has evidently fixed his plate discipline issues and his current numbers show it:

.354 AVE/.452 OBP/.623 SLG/1.075 OPS

15 HR 57 RBI 46 BB 47 K

.....in the final round of a HOME RUN DERBY......................OMG.....it was a Hr derby for crying out loud........how many times has Bonds, Ortiz, or other ELITE HR hitters won the A/S HR Derby.............................geesh..........

and as for Rekz...................ya you right about that, i too would love to have a 25-30 Hr guy with a .300 average at 3B/1B................

andre either had 11 homers his first season, and 13 his second.

going by your logic, his ceiling must be 15 homers.

beating miguel cabrera, bobby abreu, andres gallaraga, and more in a home run derby at 21 years old is definitely something to be proud of.

in case you forgot, bobby abreu still holds the record for most total homers in a mlb home run derby

you do seem like the type of fruit to say "OMG" and "geesh" while trying to argue sports with invalid points and ignorant predictions

Pablo's highest HR total before last season was 11, he had always hit for high average but the power started to come around last season (23 HR between A+, AA, and MLB). I think that he'll settle down (in terms of consistent production) within that 25-30 HR range, while maintain his hitting for high average.

I posted that vid in the Sandoval thread, BTW...

i put him at 25-30............those first full seasons were 400 AB's.....everyday players get around 550 AB's............K/BB ratio 287/185 is very good for a power hitter............batting average ceiling is around .285...........probly a OB% of about .385..

the thing Ethier needs to work on is consistancy.......he gets really hot for extended periods and then really cold for extended periods......
