in fact his lowest avg for a season in the last 7 years is .276

so avg wise, this season is quite a decline
^^^ his career avg is .276. his current .259 is his 2nd worst avg not including his rookie year. so ud be wrong to think his 2nd worst year is on par.

you are just looking at batting average............even still he is a career 275 and 260 isnt that far off........

in '08 he had career highs in games, AB's, runs (2nd highest), hits, doubles, rbi's, and K's (only 33)...........

this year Molina isputting up his average career numbers............last year Molina put up career highs.................

and i said that he Sandoval will NEVER have game changing defense at 3B or 20-30 stolen bases at any given time in his career................therefore he willnever be better than Wright...............even his he exceeds all expectations his hittingwill at best be EVEN with Wright..........but wright is still off the charts higher than Sandoval in plus speed and plus plus defense.....

as for Pujols Sandoval will NEVER put up Pujols type numbers.............therefore he CANT be the best 1B in baseball.........get the poing................
Im just curious what type of ethos you think you have passing judgement on a 22 year old player that has done everything except tear the cover off the ball with his bat and made quite a few nice stops at both 3B and C? You say Sandoval will NEVER have game changing defense. How the hell do you know that? I've seen Sandoval make a number of nice plays. Hes got quick feet and decent mobility. Some of his best plays aren't physique or astetically pleasing; he knocks down balls and keeps them in the infield and he blocks balls guys normally dive for like a catcher. He plays three positions. Can Wright play catcher? How long do you think Wrights speed and mobility holds up until he can't play "game changing" 3B and steal 30 bags?

While he speed is questionable, and I don't expect him to be a demon on the bases, what type of statement is that that he will NEVER be better than David Wright because, at 22, you're absolutely positive he'll never have "game changing defense" and steal 20-30 bags?

2009 STATS
Sandoval .336 AVG 11HR 39RBI 33R 2SB
Wright .339 AVG 4HR 40RBI 48R 20SB

Don't forget the Giants offensive woes and constant reshuffling of the batting order which certainly effects Sandovals R's and RBI's.

Wright has been playing 6 years. Sandoval less than a year and a half. Wright is a hell of a player. I'd love to have him on my team. But Sandoval is 22. He's played 109 games. That's just not enough to say he can't ever be better than Wright. He's certainly towing the line as a rookie in just about everything except SB, and in fact, has a higher FPCT (while Im sure playing C might skew that).

I just don't understand where you are coming from with all these absolutes regarding Sandoval, when he's played 109 games and he's 22 years old. If he keeps his weight under control, he has the potential to be a big time player for quite sometime. Its tough to live up to a bill of David Wright, but one thing they both have is outstanding talent, and I think at 24 or 25 its a bit easier to identify whether or not someone can live up to a bill like Wright.

@Franchise, Pablo won't be a 5 tool Player, unless he loses 30 Lbs. and Solidifies his defense at third...

Now On Trades, I wouldn't mind trading Randy winn with Sanchez for someone and Make Room for Dye in LF, and I also wouldn't mind Getting Freddy Sanchez to Play 2nd Base for the G-men.

Our Line-up would be sick
CF Rowand, Been consistent in the Leadoff Role
2B F. Sanchez Ideal Number two Hitter
LF Dye
3B Pablo
RF Nate, he's met many of the SF GIANTS expectations
C Bengie Molasses
1B Ishikawa
SS Renteria

Man with that Line-up and with our Pitching Staff, This team is a WS contender, You have Timmy and Cain at the top almost a guaranteed 2 wins...An awesome Bullpen, Wilson scares me sometimes LOL

Had the Giants Gone out and signed O. Hudson instead of Renteria the Giants would probably be 3-4 games behind the Dodgers

MaddDogg..............at 5'10 245...........i can guarantee you Sandoval will never steal bases enough to make an impact.............i can also guarantee you that his lack of speed affect his range and mobility in the infield.........so he will NEVER have game changing defense since his range is limited...........this isnt about whether he is 22 or 27....simply put...he has limitations that will rate him average to beow average in those two tools.....Defense and Speed................i already said i think he will be a very, very good hitter......at 22 he is on a path to be an A/S caliber hitter...........

who gives a fuck about stealing mass amounts of bases when hes hitting doubles and triples? He's not a base stealer.. look at adrian gonzalez, fielder, howard, texeira, even your idol miggy cabrera. All and more players have around the same steals as sandoval or less. As long as he's picking up the rbis or getting on base im happy, he's already doing what most hitters on our team cant do consistantly.

true...i believe they were somehwere along the lines of...........he has a bad body that will continue to possibly grow out of control as he gets older............so when i did bring him up it was as a reference to Sandoval............who is alote bigger now than Cabrera. Cabrera

Got out of it with the double play. Bullpen holds it down and we get another W. A sweep against STL would be VERY impressive. ESPN radio actually said the Giants are 6th in power rankings (like anything they say matter, but nice to get some recognition).
