Contrary to popular belief, you should stick to protein in the day, and carbs at night.

Read up on the Circadian cycle and how it affects your energy. In the day time when you're outside you get more serotonin, and at night melatonin kicks and makes you tired. You need carbs at night to keep the high energy from the day.

Edit:

I misread what you said, you're right. It should be moderate, people try to cut out their carbs, and that's wrong.

If someone is trying to lose weight, than he should have more carbs compared to if he were just trying to build muscle.
huh im confused , more carbs when trying to bulk brodie , less when trying to lose weight increase fat and protien so your body starts to use it as energy()keto diet, the anabolic solution). carb is not a carb either white like sugar, white bread, pasta is fast absorbing they end up gettin stored as fat. wheats and whole grains are better they take longer to digest.

really the whole diet thing is not complicated , eat clean; fruits ,veggies, lean red meats, chicken fish , lean pork, turky , whole wheat, i'd also not eat any carbs after 6

yeah I'm pretty much the same way... I'll eat a little "dirtier" in the winter months and a little "cleaner" in the summer...

but for the most part I just don't eat too much garbage... but then again I've always been able to burn off fat pretty quickly if I need to

I was hella skinny before I started hittin the weights... so weight has never been a huge issue... just get that little gut every now and then... but I can get rid of it liek that

No you are right, my mistake.

There's something else that affects energy levels though. It's body temperature.

The hormone serotonin raises the body temperature.

Your body temperature begins to raise when you wake up in the morning. It begins to drop in the afternoon/evening.

One obvious case of this is when you're running a cold, and you touch your forehead, it's hot. You feel sleepy/tired because you're body is attempting to cool down your body temperature.

This raise and drop happens on a regular every day basis and it's called the circadian cycle. In the morning the body temperature is high, because people go outside and absorb the sunlight. The sunlight raises the body temperature. At night, when the sky is dark and the sun is no longer there, melatonin cools down the body temperature and you get tired/sleepy.

So, you don't really need the carbs in the day, because your body is active enough. You take protein in the day. Then take carbs in the evening to sustain energy levels from the day.

Fuck what everyone says period. Everyone's body is different. What worked great for one person will not work for everyone. Anyone coming on here saying do this and you will get this result is just wrong. Even if it worked for them it don't mean shit. We are all very different. I'm 5'11 I eat awefull shit. I drink beer every night atleast 10 and I never have weighted over 175. I'm 32 now but did the same shit at 23 and was never over 150. So yeah I gained some weight as I got older but only because of my body not my diet or workout. Your genes got alot to do with it I think even more than your diet.

You may not be gaining weight because of it, but that doesn't mean that you're not jeopardizing your health.
