I saw this the other day and the movie was "meh"... It really depends on what you're expecting to see when you buy your ticket. The "scary parts" were done pretty well, although they were few and far between.

The ending was extremely predictable, even if the last (maybe) 5 seconds of the movie were the scariest 5 seconds I've seen in a theater in a long time. That isn't exactly saying much. The last "horror" I saw of any worth was The Exorcist prequel.

Basically I'd say that if you feel like seeing this at all, then def see it in the theater. There would be no point to watch this at home on DVD unless it were for the special features.

I just watched it, I think I might like the theatrical ending better cuz it ends suddenly but this one is cool too..

for those who didnt see it in theaters the ending in the theaters is way different from the screener. SPOILER: the chick wakes and and stands there for like 3 hours like the screener but she does on micah's side of the bed, then when she goes down stairs she screams micah's name then when he runs down he gets done up. then she comes back upstairs with micah and throws his body at the camera, then the bitch goes up to the camera and starts doing some weird crazy ass shit and then bites the camera and it ends.

I'm probably going to get some hate for this, but I didn't think the movie was all that bad. And I typically hate ghost movies in general. I felt they did a decent job creating some creepy scenes with the limited amount of resources they had. Bad acting aside, it was pretty well done, all things considered. For comparison, I thought Blair Witch sucked ass. This was better, imo.

It probably also helped having the worst possible expectations going into the movie. After reading this thread, I figured it would be pure shit.

Well thats why I think a lot people didn't like this movie. They go into it wanting it to be real, or look real. When you really should watch it and expect a movie with acting. I mean, it's a movie for the purpose of entertainment. People who were expecting it to be real, or as real as possible are kind of boneheads imo, it's a fuckin movie! Ghosts are not real children!
