weak as FUCK! MOBB SHIT!!! i Guess His Not Money Motivated Anymore, he needs to do an album wit the D BOYZ, now thats an idea.
The youth today have no idea who the d boys are...even here in vallejo. That album would flop. Unless you got a budget to put out a free album then anything you want to happen won't. Im not saying that this record would do any better but it does cater to todays young audience just the dboys did when I was 15

Seriously speaking this thread is the case of, your dammed if you do & dammed if you don't. The case of you can't have your cake & eat it too, your wrong, but your still right etc.

I can't say I agree with the song, but I can see where he's trying to go. It's either give it a try at something new and dumb down my lyrics to perhaps stand a better chance at getting this music somewhere. If it's garbage they want, it's garbage I'm serving type of attitude. Much like working a job your not happy at. It's not personal, just here for the paycheck. Sad, but true.

The beauty of it is, that any artist can come with some sugar coated, bubblegum, flip floppy song, but also have a background and the ability to come with the real music, but that's not what the industry is looking for. Perhaps that artist is tired of making the music that only a handful of people like & wants more, but if he continues on the same path he'll continue to keep going in circles. Sell out, cookie cutter, watered down music, or versatile artist? Those type of artist are the most valuable within the industry. They all might not blow up and be the artist in the limelight, but may be the reason for many artist in the limelight due to being a ghost writer hired by a major.

While I completely agree with what you said about a Dru/D-Boyz album and I understand that you had nothing to do with the "Chicken Fried Rice" song besides pressing record, wouldn't this song be considered "Selling Out" on Dru's behalf considering his music career? From what I gathered he is compromising his previous musical content and sound in order to try and make money of the younger generation?

I dont know much about Young Dru, just the songs that have been posted here in the last few months (2 songs). So maybe I am wrong. Regardless I think even if you are trying to appeal to 15 year olds completely stealing Lil' B's lines and style is a horrible move.

IS IT REALLY THAT SERIOUS THO?? WE'RE NOT TALKIN ABOUT A YOUNG DRU/LIL B ALBUM... IT'S ONE SONG... HE STANDS TO GAIN MORE FANS FROM THIS ONE SONG THAN HE STANDS TO LOSE... IT'S LIKE WE WANT PEOPLE TO DO BETTER IN LIFE BUT WE WANT THEM TO DO IT ON OUR TERMS... I HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD YOUNG DRU'S NAME ON THIS SITE FOR AT LEAST A YEAR OR SO... BUT WE'RE ALREADY 6 PAGES DEEP SO I'TS OBVIOUSLY PUTTING HIS NAME OUT THERE...

Love the beat, not a huge fan of the rapping (prolly first time I said this about a Young Dru song).
I can see where Dru is going with this and its probably a good business move, but it just aint my kinda thing the whole LIL style gimmick rappin. If it gains Dru some new fans then I dont really have an issue with it, just not a song I would put on repeat.

It isn't about Lil B or Young Dru, it is about what is real. You think because an artist raps about guns, drugs, and bitches he is keeping it real? And a square dude can feel that? I don't know, I protect myself but am not out riding around living my favorite rappers lyrics anymore so why pretend? That is how I look at it. ALot of rappers music isn't radio friendly, their get down, if you can comprehend the meaning, is. Not only do you have grown men still pretending, now you got youngsters lacking any type of real foundation and lack respect and we wonder why the game is fucked up. Like I said, there are those who live their raps or lived them. Those that do or have know it isn't a game, something glamorous, and not many keep it real. Snakes are more prevelant in the streets than anywhere else. The streets leave you scarred but I don't expect some of squares to comprehend that. Nowadays because of the internet and the rap music the kids listen too, the "keeping it real" phenomon is worse that ever. When I said I support artists that get it a few responses back, I mean get the business. If you rappin for the block that is cool, dont be mad because someone else has the mindset to expand their own opportunities. Because quite frankly, alot of these rappers talk that shit but would change places with Drake, Lil Wayne, etc in heart beat. If you are rappin you are more than likely seeking attention, why not get try and get the most attention? I just don't get it....

At the end of the day, rap music or an artist for that matter isn't going to make me form an opinion about something or someone. So what Young Dru made a song targeting a different audience? Does that change who he is as a person? Does it mean he is "selling out?"
According to who? Life is about smoke screens if you haven't figured it out. Politicians being the best at it. It is about perception and that is where we got it fucked up. But you don't hear me though and you don't have too. When you can look yourself in the mirror and know who you are and where you are going, only then can you keep it real, imo....

I will end it will this analogy. It is like the kids that play these video games all day and are "gamers." Then you got the soldiers in Iraq really dojng their thing. It is easy to spectate and sideline huslte, but the real game comes from experience and if you don't know you don't need to....

I don't care if he pimps his mum to make a better living. He can do what he wants to earn more money. Me as a buyer of his earlier work, I won't spend money on this, as I don't like it.

there's a lot of bullshit in this thread

we're fans of Bay Area Rap music... if you don't want fans to express their opinion on the song, then don't fucking post it in a forum titled BAY AREA RAP TALK... if you do we will TALK about it... that shit is way too logical, huh?

I think the song sucks, and I'm not being a hater. I'm expressing my opinion. If Young Dru makes a million dollars off the song, then good for him, I'm happy for him. Doesn't mean I'm gonna say I like the song though, I'll still say it sucks.
