the guy did sound like he was making an effort to put down black people, which i dont agree with....HOWEVER.....
i work with minority/low income students. have been for about 5 years....and they can breakdown very nice, non racist people in a matter of months(especially white women).....ive seen teachers attitudes just change because of the absurd, ignorant, obnoxiousness of students. and thats bullshit for people to say that they shouldnt be teachers if they cant handle it. these are young intelligent people with tolerance and patience who want to go into teaching to make a difference, knowing that theyre gonna have to reach out to kids from troubled backgrounds..they know that theyre gonna have to work harder to get through to these kids, but i dont think they expect for kids to be yelling "shut the fuck up!" back at them cause they asked the student to change seats or clean up their snack...and then when they try to have a confrence with the parent, the parent never shows or gets defensive with the teacher. it can be pretty bad.
i went to a mexico soccer game at qualcomm stadium last weekend, and that reminded me why so many of these kids act the way they do....their fuckin parents are a bunch of grown dumbasses!!!! i was fortunate to be raised in a mexican home where my parents were mature. my pops and i were at this game just laughing and shaking our heads at how ridiculous these people were acting. grown men throwing shit, blowing horns in peoples faces, and being defiant towards ushers who wouldnt let them sit in seats that didnt belong to them. and theyve all got a grip of kids by their side....and these are the kids who are driving teachers crazy at school....their role model is their dad..the guy whos calling the security guard a puto for making him put his cigarette out...or their mom..some ignorant 24 year old with a bad attitude dressed like a bratz doll. part of this problem has to do with the fact that minorities are having these kids young, so they themselves are still far from mature enough to be setting examples for a kid.
black kids its the same thing. though they do act a little different than mexican kids. ima be honest, from my experience...black girls can have the nastiest attitude imaginable. it blows me away how angry and ignorant some of them can be...2 horrible combinations to have. but with that said, there are 3 middle school mexican girls who have been by far the rudest students i have ever worked with....so its not a race thing.
and its not a money in the schools thing. cause ive worked at schools in pretty impoverished neighborhoods (baker elementary..oceanview and 40th in dago....dudes in their bright red shirts at the park across the street), and i felt they had all the tools needed for a good learning environment. lincoln high in dago is a state of the art school..looks better than la jolla high....but theyre still a fucked up school cause its not about that. its just about kids coming to school from homes where their parents still dont think and act like true adults. until that changes minorities will always be fucked.
ive worked in schools in white neighborhoods and the kids attitudes are a world of a difference....and its not cause theyre smarter or more articulate, but just that theyre actually RESPECTFUL. and they actually get concerned when you tell them you're gonna have a talk with their parents, which is a big deal. you have a talk with a kids parents and youll see the difference in their behavior the next day. and these arent all white kids. these are minorities too, but generally speaking minorities in these schools have different attitudes than minorities in the hood...so its not about skin color but rather just about environment
i know institutionalized racism plays a major role in this but latin and black (when it comes to school asians and filipinos seem do be cool) folks need to really step it up. the playing field isnt level obviously but its not slanted to the point that underdogs cant come out on top. in the end i love working in the inner city schools, but its a sad world....but the schools arent the ones mainly at fault (which i used to believe) it really is the minorities themselves...bill cosby aint lying

I've seen both sides of the spectrum with all races. The bad thing is, people my age started having kids in their early and mid teens, so when they're 27 or 28 years old, their kids are already 13, 14, 15. Kids that young can't teach a child...they don't have the maturity level to do so in ANY case.
