Its all preference. I just dont like the beats at all. They suck for the most part. Why I wanna hear a drum kick, a clap, and some cheesy recorded hook that is repetitive every song? Simple answer? I dont.

Im 32, buddy.

Either way, NONE of these beats remind me of no old school short. For one, Shorts was some slow ridin 808 shit...which is the exact OPPOSITE of this album.

Only a 90's baby would think this album sounds ANYTHING like Life Is... Too Short.

Ahhhh Shit & Over The Stove

Ahhhh Shit!!! This track is like a combination of "Carlo Rossi", "Flashin" and "Sinister Mobb". Like I said E-40 did some unbelievable work on these two albums!

Over The Stove just sounds so fuckin' lovely in the sound system! 40 is like 5 to 6 steps ahead of all artists this time on this one...

I always love new 40 albums. As far as the beats are concerned, ya they basic, but they do slap!

But with that being said, those kind beats don't strike no feelin in me like many of my favorite songs do.

For example on the grit & grind album: there were plenty of great tracks, but the # 1 track that everyone loves and remembers is Lifestyles. "desperado always drinking out the bottle, etc". Why? Maybe b/c there was an actual baseline....just something to consider

Listened to Night Shift a couple of more times, it's close. They are about the same level to me, Day Shift might have it on not as many songs that I skip.
