Even though we lost the game, there are many positives to take from it. Without a doubt, coach will have the team reviewing film this week and break down the plays that could have led to a W. Even with Favre pulling another miracle out his ass, this was one of the best 49er games I`ve seen in fucking years! Nothing about the loss to hang our heads about at all. Stuck in there for the entire game, literally, even without Gore. All around, great game.
Yeah but a W would've been so fuckin goooood, especially in that hostile environment when noone gave the 9ers a chance. And yeah without a doubt one of the best 9er games in years, no thanks to Mike Nolan. Just gotta see what's up with Gore by the time Atlanta comes into town.

Raye needs to be less predictable with his calling and mix it up! We already let the world know what our intentions are on offense, and it seems like they're all there waiting for us when we do.

Play action maybe? Misdirection?

the better team won, but it was a close game and then Favre won it in the last seconds, but u gotta give the Niners credit because they was still hangin in even tho Gore got injured
Im not sure if the Vikes are a better team..IMO.....Frisco played on the road, without a gamebreaking running back like frank Gore and a 1st round pick (crabtree)..Look at what percy harvin is doing for the Vikes......Im just sayin tho......If frisco played at home and had Gore, they would have won hands down.....80 sumthin yards is good for most other backs except AD...Holding him under 120 yards with no TD's is called containing a great player.......Its like Holding Tom brady under 300 pass yards and only letting him pass for 1 TD.......Its unfair to say that about these great players but containing a player of that magnitude is impressive IMO, because running those offense's depends on their success.......

If Jamarcuss Russell passes for around 225 :ermm: and 1 TD.....I would pinch myself to see if i was dreaming.......But Tom Brady doing that is being contained.......

Mcfadden Rushing for 80 sumthing yard (no fumbles :ermm:) is a success.....But AD doing that is being contained........

Despite the win The vikes are not better than frisco...IMO......

HORRIBLE PLAY CALLING IN THE POSESSION BEFORE THE FAVRE TD....THE HAIL MARY IS THE EASIEST PLAY TO DEFEND...OUR SECONDARY SHOULD BE SLAPPED IN THE FACE ALONG WITH VERNON DAVIS......

Any 9er's fan who blames Roman for the loss is looking for an easy way out.
I don't think we need a way out at all, much less an easy one. The Niners played a very good game.

BUT, Roman is probably the whackest Safety in the entire league. What other defender do you know of that would just watch the receiver come down with the ball and not even ATTEMPT to push him out of bounds? If it were me and I knew we were at the back of the end zone, I swear on anything I would have grabbed hold of the receiver AS SOON AS HE TOUCHED THE BALL, while he was still in the air and I would have thrown his ass out of bounds. Roman might have forgotten there is no more force-out rule, but I think he just sucks and wouldn't have touched the guy anyway.

But you're right, it's not all Roman's fault. We should have converted on 3rd downs and we should have thrown the ball more. It should have never come down to that last play to begin with. But you can't try to sit there and say Roman didn't fuck that last play up.

Apparently they want to rest Gore for the next 2 games, which is probably not gonna sit well with Frank since he normally likes to play through injuries. They might bring Kory Sheets up off the practice squad so we don't have to ever rely on Michael "No Gain" Robinson if something happens to Coffee in the next 2 weeks.

We left our defense on the field one too many possessions is why we lost. We couldn't run out the clock even though it was under 2:00. All we needed was a first down and the game was over. Our defense played tough tough football, and we got let down by a bad third down decision. I think they should have alternated the carries between Robinson and Coffee bacause Coffee was not that effective at all, and we had nothing to lose. Coffee got stuffed in almost every attempt to get a yard or so. I bet he aint as cocky as he was in preseason when he started to believe his own hype. He should be pretty humbled now.

I don't know if Robinson would have been better, but he couldn't have done any worse. End of the day Davis came up big, because without his two touchdowns we aren't even talking about a close game. Either way I'm gone ride or die with my team like I been doin over 30 years now. Niners 4 Life.

coffee had some good runs. The team did great considering the situation they were in. Nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm just a bit upset with not being agressive and going for it on 4th &4 and instead, taking the FG, right after it they returned the kick off for a TD... it could have been different if they opted to keep the drive going. I'm not sold on playting conservative in that situation when we are leading by 1 and had good momentum, it would of been better to lead by 8 at that point and force Favres hand more which might have lead to another pick on their next drive.

Previous reports suggest that Frank Gore could miss at least two weeks due to a high ankle strain (not sprain, according to the team), but Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat says the running back will be re-evaluated on Monday. Maiocco also notes that the 49ers may consider promoting Kory Sheets from the practice squad.

Glen Coffee stands to start if Gore is out, and Sheets would provide extra depth. The 49ers play two more games before the Week 6 bye.

We can sit here all day and micro analyze every play and come up with different outcomes. Yes, Roman is a tool, but to say he could have cost us the game is a big "what if". Let`s just say he does lay a hit on Lewis, which I agree that he should have, but there isn`t any reasoning to think that a hit would have jarred the ball loose. Vernon Davis got hammered earlier in the game in between 2 Viking defenders and came down with the ball. Just saying.

The main 2 keys I feel might have cost us the game came from the coaching side. On the last Vikings drive with time ticking down, we still had 1 time out and never used it. I understand the thinking of trying to hold em enough to let the clock run out, but it looked like the defense could have used a time out and one more coach emotional push like he did in week 1. Still a "what if" though....

On our last 3 and out drive, when if we had gotten a 1st down, we could have controlled the clock and ensured victory. Instead, we tried to run the ball 3 times. These are the situations where Raye has to be more creative, and had we mixed it up some, who knows. But again though, more "what ifs".
