yall are puttin too much blame on Roman... sure he could've executed the last play better than he did, but you gotta remember the game cant end on a penalty, so if he would've got called for a pass interference even if there was no time left on the clock, the Vikings would've had one play from the 1 yard line... the odds of Lewis making that catch were far less than the odds of the Vikings scoring from the 1... so basically, his only real option was to immediately throw Lewis legs out of bounds as he touched the ball... yes, he SHOULD'VE done that but he didnt.. too bad, so sad... Frisco had plenty of opportunities to put the game away and didnt capitalize on ANY of them.. your kick/punt return coverage was TERRIBLE, and your DB's/LB's dropped like 4 interceptions through the course of the game... if you're gonna put that much blame on Roman, you gotta put just as much on Bly for not icing it at the end.. it was a TEAM LOSS, not one player OR coach, and if your team's gonna keep fuckin shit up like that you should be worried....
I think we all know it was a team loss and not just Roman's fault - read my posts that elaborate on just that. That doesn't take away from Roman's mistake at the end. Despite all that went wrong, the game could have been saved if anyone besides MARK FUCKIN ROMAN was covering Lewis at the back of the end zone on that play. Once the guy touches the ball, there is no more chance of pass interference. Roman was out of position, as usual, so what he should have done is waited for Lewis to touch the ball and then PUSH HIM OUT OF BOUNDS before he came down. As a DB you're taught to put a hit on any receiver if you're not in position to go up with him and fight for the ball. Roman was clearly WAY out of position and he still went up like a fuckin idiot.
Like I said, it's not all Roman's fault, but he doesn't get a pass on the blown play just because he's not the only person to blame for the loss. Fuck that. This clown has been awful for years. I'd still be pissed about that shit even if we ended up scoring on our last play with 0:02 left and we won the game. He is a shitty player and it's inexcusable.

I think most people were so upset because the win was in our grasp all the way to the 2 second mark. A loss at the very end like that is depressing, especially since your team just went toe-to-toe with a team many are saying will represent your conference in the SuperBowl (I don't think they will, but many others do).
I agree 100%. All I'm saying is that just because it should have never come down to the play doesn't mean Roman should get a pass for fucking up.
No. He's not the one that calls the plays or makes the sets for the defense, that's Greg Manusky. But in the end, Manusky wasn't the man caught out of position and he's not the one that made the wrong decision on that play. Roman was in because he was a part of that defensive package, which was Manusky's decision. The fact that he's still on the damn team to begin with lies on Scot McCloughan's lap. They told Roman to find a trade partner, which he failed to do. McCloughan should have released him after that, but he didn't.

Hey guess what???? THE NINERS LOST!! Therefore the better team won. End of discussion. You can say all you want but that wont change the fact that the Vikings won and are 3-0 and the niners lost and are 2-1. And no we wont see you in the playoffs cause we'll have a first round bye and the niners arent gettin out the first round, if they even make it that far.
