My moms second husband was an abusive San Mateo cop. I pretended I was asleep and headbutted him when his face was close to mine trying to wake me up. Broke his nose and pissed off his three sons (I was 9 and they were older) so they beat my ass

Felt good tho. My dad always taught me not to trust the police because they will have each other's back before they have yours. Biggest gang in the country he always said
ive had my fun with the san mateo police...cab driver called the cops on me cause i didnt have cash...waited for them to get there then they told me to go inside my house and get cash..one of them said "dont try anything funny cause i will not hesistate to blow your fucking brains ouT"

honestly cannot remember any good experiences with the police...ive had some that werent bad but i dont remember ever having a situation where i felt glad that they showed up

The video just shows what went down. BUt if you read articles that talk about the dead man it's mentioned.

Obviously if dude has a knife cops are going to react but god damn they did not hesitate to shoot. I still remember im Seattle some ten or fifteen years ago or so some mentally disturbed man with a sword in downtown was going nuts. The cops tried to reason with him and eventually threw a net over him lol. Shit worked and no one had to die. No doubt if that happened today he'd be shot on site and the talk would be "well he had a sword what did he ecpect?"instead of opening a discussion on ways police can use non lethal means to handle situations like these.
dude, if I have a gun and some dude is seriously threatening me with a sword I'm going to shoot him

The police have become our mental health system. I can't find it, but I read an article recently that estimated over 50% of police calls are dealing with a mental health issue.

I have a book, somewhere on my hard drive, that is a really good read when it comes to the criminal justice system and mental health. If it isn't on the hd it's on one of my externals so I'll see if I can locate it.

that chart is a direct hit from Ronald Regan.

...fuck that guy.
I wonder why the mentally ill stopped being in hospitals before he was in office though? I also wonder how many mentally ill are in prison because they were thrown in on drug charges? Especially after crack hit the streets. Now a grip of mentally ill people are homeless and/or on drugs.

Which is why I'm glad ur not a cop. They were able to handle the situation without killing him.
lol it's because I'm not properly trained? And I didn't have my spiderman net. I was just playin man. But for real though, if a dude had a sword and was chasing me, at some point or another the dude is getting shot. In every situation, there is nearly always a way to get out of it without someone losing their life. Otherwise there would be a ton of fools getting smoked out there.

all b.s. aside, I actually tested for the OKCPD a little over a year ago. I passed everything but decided to finish my degree instead. There were only a couple of cool officers there during the testing, the rest were total dickheads. I'm not saying it's right, but I think a lot of those fools get spun after dealing with so much b.s. year in and year out. It's not just the public, it's the stupid supervisors and politics you're dealing with too. Those fools should undergo regular mental health testing, but they don't.
