I'll be at a loss of words if Floyd doesn't take the fight. If he loses, Pacmam will be the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

PBF will probably sign on the last day.
That way he will have 3-4 extra weeks of mental preparation over Manny.
He takes any edge he can...

As long as Roger can stay clear or postpone whatever he is going through right now.

he's gotta protect that "0" on his record.
He's BEEN protecting that "0" on his record by avoiding anyone that can beat him. Pacquiao will be the only Hall Of Famer that you spoke of that isn't way past his prime when Fraud got to him.

By the way, Pacquiao will KO Fraud in 5 rounds max if he tries to stand and fight like he did with Mosley. Fraud wins by having superior speed, which is why his defensive style works so well - because he's so much quicker than the other guy. He won't be quicker than Pacquiao.

I would say you'll eat your words when Pacquiao beats Fraud, but you don't seem to care about looking like a fool, as is evidenced in the Sports forum.

LOL, we'll see.... hopefully Floyd signs. He's going to dominate Pacman just like the other fighters he dominated, then we'll come back to this thread and see who looks like the fool. Floyd is boxings best boxer, I don't see Pacquiao outboxing Floyd..... and you never know. Floyd might stand there right in front of Pacquiao and throw his game plan off. He suprised us all by standing right in front of Mosely and taking the best he had to offer.

5 rounds max? LOL, we'll see who looks like the fool. If Floyd does fight the same way he fought Mosely, Floyd will win by TKO.

the problem is floyd isn't going to sign :(

Floyd is the greatest fantasy fighter of all time.

He would have DESTROYED Margarito
He would have DESTROYED Cotto.
He would have DESTROYED Pacquiao.

Would have.

This fight aint happening. Brace yourselves for bad news Friday night or Saturday morning and for better or worse, Pacquiao vs Margarito not in the US and Floyd vs Sergio Martinez at best

If floyd doesn't sign.....

Pacquiao vs Margarito at 154 pounds for vacant title. IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

Obviously everyone wants floyd-pac, but uh that would be pretty epic as well

::::

By Lem Satterfield

Whether it's Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito, Top CEO Bob Arum will put Manny Pacquiao in position to become an eight division world champion. Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is still in play until the end of the week. Arum and Team Pacquiao gave Mayweather a mid-July deadline to accept a proposal for a mega-bout on November 13 in Las Vegas.

Once the deadline runs out, Pacquiao will have two choices on the table. The first choice is WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, who Pacquiao knocked out for the WBO welterweight title last November. The second choice is Antonio Margarito. The Mexican former champion is still without a license to box in the United States, but he is ranked in the number 1 position within the WBC's ratings at 154-pounds.

[...]

"Sergio Martinez had that title and he vacated that WBC crown to keep the WBC middleweight title. So Margarito and Manny Pacquiao would be fighting for that title," Arum said.

Because Margarito is unable to fight in the United States, the fight would take place overseas. Arum will also explore the possibility of bringing the fight to Las Vegas. Margarito was turned down for a license to box in Nevada last Friday. A fight with Margarito, or Cotto, would take place in a Middle Eastern country or Mexico. Arum said a recent meeting with reps for the Middle Eastern country went very well.

"I will say that we had another very good meeting with representatives from the Mid-East country, and it's going to be wild," said Arum. "They're now willing to do the fight in the morning over there, which will coincide with a regular evening time here in the United States. So pay per view wouldn't be much affected. It's going to be a blockbuster if that's what happens."

It'd be a shame if Mayweather doesn't sign to fight for whatever his reasons. Plenty of people at work talk about this fight that can't name enough boxers to fill up their fingers. That's a lot of money to be walking away from ..

If Floyd is being offered the bigger share of the purse split and pac's willingness to take the olympic style drug test then Floyd shouldn't turn it down.

I'm up for a Margarito fight. He needs the money.

I still think Floyd will come through, but if he doesn't it's not that shocking. This wouldn't be the first time he ducked a fight. Maybe if Manny caught bronchitis and said he felt weak, then Floyd would consider it.

Mayweather will sign, don't get your panties in a bunch folks. He took forever to sign the paperwork for the Mosely fight.... calm down.

Yeah it's strange but that's what Arum wanted right.... to negotiate in silence.... even though Arum sort of went against his own word. I'll be disappointed just like everyone else if this fight doesn't jump off.... If it doesn't hopefully Floyd will tell us why. I just don't understand why Arum is acting like he's the one holding the cards and calling all the shots.... but anyway we'll see what's up with Floyd and if he agrees with the terms.

well the thing is Golden Boy negotiates for Floyd (and obviously top rank for Pac) and they apparently reached an agreement. Obviously Golden Boy knows what Floyd wants and wouldn't agree if they didn't believe it was in floyd's best interests. So the silence to me is either a). floyd being floyd and waiting till the last minute or b). he's not going to sign.

If something was wrong with the contract, Golden boy and/or Floyd would have came out and said something.

I think arum is simply trying to put the pressure on floyd to sign. Making it seem like, "hey look, we have options (margarito or cotto), it's no big deal if floyd doesn't want to fight" but in reality I don't think they want either of those fights, they want floyd. now.

I have a suspicion that Floyd will end up saying that the drug tests isn't good enough, that will be his excuse. From what I've gathered, it appears the contract has the drug testing random the entire way but with a cutoff date of 10-14 days (which is what Floyd wanted the first time around). Golden Boy & Top Rank are on board with this. But I bet floyd will end up not signing and saying the reason is because there cannot be a cutoff date, which would be a poor excuse, imo.
