See what i wanted to do was shut up all the Mayweather is ducking Manny talk which I think I did. No one wants to states the facts that Manny has made a name for himself by beating up already damaged fighter that come straight to him. For the record Cotto has no defense other the running like he did the last 4 rounds of the Mosley fight. Cotto is and was HBO hype. HBO commenators will lead you to believe some this bums they hype up are elite fighters. Khan,Ortiz, Angulo,and Jacobs all HBO hype job fighting nothing but shot and washed up named fighters. ArGenTin3 Manny is all action again walking punching bags.

Man please! Cotto OUTBOXED shane mosley. That means something. Floyd nearly got dropped by Shane and Cotto never buckled. That must mean something. He's no pernell whitaker, but cotto does have defense and he can box effectively.
If he just ran the last four rounds he would have lost the fight. He out-boxed mosley, simple & plain.

That's was/is the who's who of 140, 147 and even a fight at 154. He's not hype man, you don't beat those types of caliber fighters for that long over 3 weight classes and be nothin but hype! That is an impressive resume, for anyone, period.
Cotto deserves more credit and respect than that. He's taken on all the big names, never complained, never ducked anyone, just did his job. More fighters I wish were like cotto.

Take away the Mosley win from that list and you have nothing on that list that is great. He ran more then the Golden boy vs Tito the last 4 rounds of the Mosley fight how can you beat champion by running. Cottley has beat no one elite. I'm sorry but i just didn't see a great resume. I see a guy that can't beat an elite fighter.
what are you talking about man? His win against Judah was awesome. He fucked up Paulie Malignaggi who was undefeated at the time. He fucked up Carlos Quintana who was undefeated at the time (who went on to beat Paul Williams shortly after let's not forget). Ricardo Torres was also undefeated at the time. Urkal was a solid win who's only losses came to Kostya Tszyu and Vivian Harris. Clottey was a solid win. Even his loss to Margarito was a good fight as he was winning till he got stopped.

I think if anybody ducked anybody it was Pacquiao ducking Mayweather. The fight would have happened on March 13th if Pacquiao would have agreed to the 14 day cut off date (that he's supposedly agreeing to now).
After seeing how Floyd got rocked, Pacquiao thinks he could rock and finish Floyd off, so that answers my own question about why Pacquiao all of a sudden changed his stance on the drug testing. I guess being blood tested so close to the fight doesn't weaken him anymore...

when did I ever question floyd's resume? I've said over and over and over again Floyd and pac are the two best fighters in the sport, without question. That doesn't mean I don't think he killed the pac fight. He's a part time fighter, let's face it. Like he said, he's like the superbowl only happens once a year.

I just like coming in here to read boxing news and read other peoples views/opinions on certain things but it just amazes me how many times 206 has to school some of y'all one, two, three, four, five...ten...twenty times on the SAME OL subject. Really no point of talking about the first time Pac/Floyd tried negotiating, no point of talking about who's to blame for the fight not happenng this year, no point on talking about who's ducking who....EVERYBODY and their mom and their mom's mom knows that Floyd didn't want to fight this year. Cotto swallowed Randall Bailey's right hand several hand and still put him away (look up Bailey if you want to see how hard he can punch), stopped Chop Chop when plenty other great fighters couldn't, beat undefeated Ricardo Torres who went on to become a champion in the division, crushed undefeated Carlos Quintana who went on to beat Paul Williams, broke Malignaggi's face, broke down Zab Judah, outboxed Mosley & toughed it out against Clottey.
