^^That doesn't matter. You sit on here talking about respect all day but you don't seem to be giving any. Nobody is gonna respect you or take your seriously until you stop generalizing so many statements about races. If I sat here droppin N-bombs and talking about how all blacks should shut the fuck up about oppression and get over it, how would you react?

So you know, I don't believe that. But it's a good point. The kettle has been calling the pot black, or white, which ever you prefer.

If I called Tadou a "n*gger" you can't say you wouldn't get mad or talk shit to me about it (unless you dislike him that much). I really don't get offended by the fact that you say "white boy" cause it's not a big deal to me. I am done and over with the labels, most of society can't live without them but that's where the line is drawn, most people dont' have a concept of what reality really is. Our daily lives with jobs and shit, doesn't mean shit. Sports, the Seahawks losing, who cares? Our planet is over 5 billion years old, the universe will still continue with or without us (humans) and our labels. My intention wasn't/isn't to talk down to you I'm just tryina bring the topic to your attention in a different light. I see a lot of people getting offended talkin about "why the fuck you gotta say whiteboy" etc...And I understand cause if they called you a n*gger, or what have you, you would more than likely be just as offended as they were about your racial comments towards the paler side of humanity. Just thought I'd see if I could help you become more aware of things you say that I don't think you mean how people take them...Which if you think about it, is their problem for taking it personal.....But would you do the same and get mad? Just a thought.

EDJ, I'm not saying you have to respect people. All Im' sayin is that it appears to me that you feel you deserve respect but sometimes you don't give it, and you disrespect before you get the chance to give respect.

Not everyone will get offended why you sayin "white boy," personally I don't give a fuck...You could call me a peckerwood, cracker, honkey, or any other racial slur for whites and I wouldn't give a fuck, why you ask? Cause I'm comfortable with the fact that skin color means NOTHING to me. If you were purple that wouldn't stop me from being nice to you or treating you with respect, it's about attitude.

I guess what my point was, when you make generalizations about "whites, the white man, etc" there are people that will take it offensively because to them it's a racial issue for whatever reason. Which I can see, because they dont' go around talking about how "the black man is taking all the white bitches"...lol...But I'm sure some "people of color" would be offended by that.

Sometimes the things that you say preemptively (sp?) disrespect people just from your word choice.

Whiteboy is not a racist term.

Neither term redneck nor cracker is a racist term and really are in concern with class and geographical location.

Honky is a bit racist but it comes from whites. The term originally comes from the term Hunky which was used for Hungarians and the Polish. The word honky came about when black people were recruited by labor agents to the north to break strikes at the turn of the century. The word hunky morphed into honky and started being used as less than complimentary by the blacks who found themselves frozen out of their jobs as strikes and unions were broken and the white workers returned to jobs. Business owners often used racism as a means of keeping workers from forming solidarity and often times played one group against another.

So honky really isn't all that racist as it is a term applied to whites by whites just as cracker and redneck were.

While I agree with the statements made in that article, I do not agree with the right to use those slanderous remarks. If I ain't ever called you a name, be it a racial slur or a sexual enuendo, don't come at me with some oddball name. I'm not going to respond well to being called anything, be it whiteboy, fatass or douchebag.

And I would bet I've been negatively termed due to my size more times than you've been negatively termed do to your race.

SIXXNESS, I gET YOUR POINT, AND PEOPLE SHOULD BE MORE ON YOUR LEVEL.

I agree! lol..I've been sayin this for awhile. There are several other people here that I would say agree with pretty much most or all of what I said.

I just realize you're not saying whiteboy because of me. You're saying it because of the way you've experienced life in general and the people you've dealt with or had to deal with, etc. I try to not take shit personal unless someone is saying it directly to me...And even then, I really dont' give a shit.

Actually all of those terms except maybe redneck are racist. The words origin does not matter, it is HOW and WHY they are used towards other people. If a non-white person calls someone (white) a cracker, he is doing so because of his skin color, which makes up for the acknowledgement of racial differences, with no respect to the content of ones character. And even if it was of the persons character that brought about the need for any aspersian, a racial slur would be unfitting. He would also be doing so in order to bring about a negative reaction from the other (white) person.

How can the term "cracker" not be racist if it is only used towards one race?

The term "redneck" is arguable. It is usually used towards those of a certain class as you said, and in often times is aimed at non-white people to accredit them into the said class. Stereotypically, someone owning a shotgun, wearing a bandana, rundown house-clothes, with little regards to their appearance etc. But when used to degrade a white person, it is in fact a racist term.

A word is just a word until it is built with substance, be it positive or negative. It has everything to do with the demeanor in which someone uses the term.

Sixxness: It is one thing to let racist remarks pass by you. But it is another for those remarks to come from someone who is outspokenly against racism and using racial slurs, and I think that is why you, as well as I spoke on this matter.

Yeah, that's true. But I try to let most of the bullshit people say pass me by. That's on them. But you are correct, that is why I said something.
