i was just cleaning out my camera card and came up on some pictures of my nfl sunday chili I forgot to post. Hopefully I get a chance to make it this year. I usually eat a small bowl, then throw a bunch in the fridge and freeze the rest. Chili always tastes better the day after.
By total coincidence the NFL Draft started tonight heres the link to the board so far:
http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft
clockwise from top left:
several types of beans, red peppers, tomatoes, water if needed, celery and carrot, white onion, jalapeno and garlic, spices, mushrooms (I usually dont add these), and ground beef
cook vegetables and spices until slightly soft
add tomatoes, mushrooms and beans
add the beef but make sure its great quality. if you add fatty beef your chili will be greasy and nasty
this is after about 10 minutes of cooking. You need to cook for maybe an hour or two, it depends. Oh and I also add a couple bay leaves and a table spoon or so of brown sugar
