Yeah, the running game didn't look too great but keep in mind the starter, Mathews, hardly got any touches. It will pick up.
Volek has always been a dope ass back up QB. Veteran guy, who knows the game. Accuracy definitely is his game.
Rivers to VJ just never gets old. As much as some people hate on Rivers, you gotta give dude his props man. One of the best in the game. First series I was paying close attention to Takeo Spikes. He was in on almost every tackle. I like what I see from some of the rookies too. Gotta remember though that it's pre-season.

Big fan of mathews and hope he steps it up, but the more and more i see the kid i think he doesnt have it. He was brought in to be an every down back and replace sproles and ladanian and i don't see it happening. He is so weak after initial contact, never seems to bounce out for more yards he just automatically goes down. Also he looks for a hole too soon and hits it for a 3 yard gain. Think he needs to be a little more patient and read the field better. Also a guy as young as him and at his position shouldn't be coming into camp out of shape
As far as takeo goes he is going to be a beast this year. When i first heard he was leaving i didn't really care. Now seeing him play and seeing the intensity he brings to a defense I could tell you our defense is going to miss him a lot. I hope the chargers help him make his first playoff appearance.

You nailed it. That was his main problem last year, other than the fumbles, he wasn't waiting for his blockers and would hit the hole too soon. Fortunately for us, that's something he can work on and get better at. Although I kind of disagree about him going down after contact. A few of his runs last year he got knocked around, held himself up with one hand, and finished the run. I think he'll get better though. And yeah, fuck that shit about him coming to camp out of shape. Inexcusable.

By the way, these new NFL rules FUCKING SUCK! Really? You're gonna cut kickoff returns in half basically??? That's the most exciting play in football. It's like a HR in baseball. Even though it kind benefits us lol, but our special teams looks much better. But hate that rule. Also, that touchdown review shit is gay. Just lags the game.
