Good. I like it. Keep them coming. I don't even give a fuck anymore. Get these selfish buster ass defenders off the team. Wimbley did it big 2 years ago, and sucked last year. Every time Davis paid someone they seemed to stop giving a fuck. We need more incentive driven contracts and less guaranteed money.
If Wimbley don't restructure then when he signs with someone else, I hope he tears his ACL. $11 mil and he won't restructure, fuck em. Acting like hes a young Ray Lewis, get the fuck outta here.

All the changes are on the defensive side of the ball like they should be. The offense did their job for the most part. McFadden on the field with Palmer is going to be a sight for sore eyes. Lets just hope we can get 12+ games out of DMAC.

Report: Seymour, Huff restructured

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 at 8:11 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders have begun to whittle away at their salary cap issues by reportedly restructuring the contracts of defensive tackle Richard Seymour and free safety Michael Huff.

According to Mac’s Football Blog, an independent outlet run by Brian McIntyre, who is well-sourced among agents and NFL teams in financial matters, Seymour dropped his base salary to the league minimum ($925,000) and converted the remaining $6,575 million to a guaranteed roster bonus for cap purposes.

Huff’s salary dropped to $700,000, moving additional money into a bonus structure that would drop his cap number from $9.828 million to $3.988 million.

The Raiders, according to various reports, have been anywhere from $10 million to $20 million over the salary cap and have committed $6.2 million to Tyvon Branch by virtue of the franchise tag.

The Raiders must still resolve the matter of linebacker of Kamerion Wimbley, due $6.5 million in guaranteed money and $4.5 million in salary this season. Quarterback Carson Palmer, due $12.5 million in salary, is a candidate for restructure who could help the Raiders easily get under a salary cap projected at approximately $120 million.

Seymour is a fucking pro. Huff showed alot of character too. Fuck Wimbley, we don't need egotistical under achievers, we need football players, period. I can't wait for the season to start. We are going to be just fine. Last year was as bad as it can get defensively, the only way we can go is up. If we can minimize the injury bug on offense we will be in the thick of things again. Fuck Manning, he needs to go to the NFC.lol

huff and seymour restructuring saved us over 10 mil of cap space.

i think curry and palmer will restructure also, and wimbley will either restructure or hit free agency.

there conflicting reports about wimbley, but he's half way out the door already.

Council approves plan to keep A's, Raiders and Warriors in Oakland

By Matt Artz
Oakland Tribune
Posted: 03/07/2012 06:02:00 AM PST

OAKLAND -- East Oakland has long been the epicenter of professional sports in the Bay Area, and on Tuesday night the City Council pressed ahead with a plan to keep its teams where they've been for decades.
To the delight of several Black Hole regulars, Oakland lawmakers approved $3.5 million toward efforts to redevelop the Coliseum complex along with adjacent land west off Interstate 880.
The A's, Raiders and Warriors are all being courted away from the complex they have called home for more than four decades. The A's have for years sought to move to San Jose, the Warriors are considering a proposed arena in San Francisco, and the Raiders are potential tenants in stadiums proposed in both Santa Clara and Los Angeles.

With funds unavailable to acquire land for a waterfront baseball stadium near Jack London Square, Oakland is hoping to draw private investors interested in transforming a more 750-acre Coliseum site into a modern sports and entertainment complex.
The city is allocating $1.6 million to pay a development team led by JRDV Architects, Forest City Enterprises and HKS Sports and Entertainment to begin talks with the teams and determine the viability of new facilities. The council also is allocating $1.9 million for planning and environmental work both at the Coliseum site and on more than 700 acres to the west between I-880 and the airport, which the city is hoping to remake into a hub for technology firms.
The study is expected to take a little over a year.
While the council hopes the Coliseum plan might save Oakland's teams, during a committee meeting last week, council member Nancy Nadel offered fans some words of caution.
"I hope everybody realizes that we have no money," she said. "As much as you might love the teams when you have no money, it's a very different game."

Clearing out more salary-cap space, the Raiders released veteran cornerback Chris Johnson. No Stanford Routt, no Chris Johnson.

Johnson, 32, was entering the final year of his contract and was scheduled to earn $3.5 million in base salary, which also represents his salary cap savings. Between the release of Johnson, and restructured contracts of Carson Palmer, Richard Seymour and Michael Huff, the Raiders have trimmed around $25 million in cap space this week.

hiram eugene was cut too. he was set to make ithink between 2-3 mil next year. we should be at or below the cap soon. still think wimbley and curry will either restructure or be gone, as well as one of our defensive linemen, maybe too. maybe kelly and big john

On Wednesday it was revealed that the Raiders had restructured the contracts of defensive tackle Richard Seymour and safety Michael Huff. These moves put knocked $12 million off of the projected $22 million they would be over the cap. But come Thursday it was revealed the Carson Palmer had also restructured his deal. And between the three of them, the Raiders are right at the salary cap.

The Raider hovered around $10 million over the salary cap after the Seymour and Huff extensions/restructures. Now Scout.com is reporting the savings for 2012 from Palmer's restructure is at $9.34 million. Bringing the Raiders right up to the projected salary cap.

I say projected because we don't know yet exactly what the figure will be. The thinking is that it will be about $120 million. But if it turns out to be slightly higher, the Raiders are already compliant.

The details of the Palmer deal are as such: He goes from a $12.5 million base salary this season down to the veteran minimum of $825,000 with the remaining $11.675 million converted to a roster bonus. To prorate the money, the team added two voidable years to the end of his contract, extending it to 2016.

This is almost the exact same thing the Raiders did with Seymour and Huff to shave around $6 million off the 2012 cap from each of them.

Next up for a restructure could be linebacker Aaron Curry which would definitely put the team well into the black (so the speak).

The beauty of all this is the Raiders have yet to make a single cut from the roster.

If the team cuts ties with Kamerion Wimbley, which they look like they will, that is another $4.5 million saved this season. Then if the scenario that I proposed of cutting John Henderson, Chris Johnson, and Hiram Eugene were to play out, the team would save another $10 million.

Being $14 million under the cap would be a shocker right about now wouldn't it?

Granted, of course, that we still have the Tyvon Branch franchise tag to think about. If he signs it, his $6.2 million salary goes against the cap. But the team is trying hard to re-sign him long term and if/when they are able to do it, his 2012 cap hit will be very small-estimated at under $3 million.

Plenty more cuts and restructures to come. And things are looking up.

looks like we'll be about 14 million under the cap as soon as we get wimbley out the door and henderson. GOD DAMN REGGIE IS WORKIN HIS ASS OFF!!

Curry restructured and I'm pretty sure huff signed a contract....we should be able to go after at least one of the top free agent CBs as well as add another piece or 2 to the D
